Hey Everyone! We have been teased for a while now that DJI could be about to release their Mini 4 drone. It seems we are getting closer with the inevitable leaks continuing. This time we have a retail box leak that as well as giving us an insight into the specifications, it also build a more complete picture of how the Mini 4 will move DJI’s entry level consumer drone forward. Being a hobbyist flyer, I treat my drone upgrades in the same way as my iPhone upgrades. If my Mini 3 Pro does everything I need, I wouldn't upgrade it to the latest one. I would probably wait till the Mini 5 Pro or even 6 until I would even consider upgrading. The Mini 3 Pro still is an advanced drone that 99% of people would be happy with and if it will be heavily discounted once the Mini 4 pro is out, it would make it an even better choice over the Mini 4 Pro.

I like that reference and it does feel like DJI follow many of the update tactics of Apple. I do the same with Samsumg smartphones, the s22 wasn't quite there, so I waited for the 23.

Dji prices stay pretty solid. The mini3 pro wont get heavily discounted as it would devalue the sales of the mini 4 pro. Im guessing the mini4 pro with rc and flymore is gonna be 1300 to 1400 gbp. If you have this mini 3 pro bundle alreafy it may be feasible to just purchase the mini4 pro on it ts own if available and compatible with rc ... thats gonna be about 1000 gbp on its own. All just my guesses

Can't see much point in a sub 250g drone until we're clear on what the CAA intend to do with this class of drone? It might be they remove all of it's benefits and relative freedoms. To be honest if I had a Mini 3 Pro I wouldn't even look at this as enough of an 'upgrade'. Tilted out front sensors, WOW could they not have thought of that on the Mini 3 or they did and thought NO leave it for the next iteration, clever marketing and all that. Still flying my original Mavic Mini that I've flown since the day it was released, bought the Mini 2 last christmas and not even took it out the box yet! 😲⚠️😳😁

The DJI move towards Apple in their release style continues, sadly. It seems like a good drone is coming but as an upgrade? I agree it is a stretch!

Thank you Saun. I just bought the Air 3 to compliment my Mini 3 for windier days. I flew it for the first time yesterday at Wateree Dam in Lugoff, SC at dusk with no filter and the images are STUNNING! I'm editing the footage today. The Mini 4 won't be in my plans (or my financial grasp) until the mini 3 is obsolete.

What is the point sooner or later we won't be able to fly it. I have the Mavic 3 Classic, and I don't fly that often until we get notifications about what the caa are going to do there is no point I think maybe I'm wrong ?

I am a hobby flyer as well (retired senior) looking to upgrade, I like the Mini 3 but want the features of both versions of mini 3, so I will wait till mini 4 is out, and will buy that shortly after its proven itself, a few months after its released. I love the sensors as my eyes are not 18 anymore.

Will stick with my mini 3 pro ❤ how much more do you really need in a mini ? Half the country watch drone footage on their phones anyway. (Obviously talking for non commercial fliers)

I've said this before when the Mini 3 was due out - it would be good if they put high-power (in mini drone terms) strobes on the arms instead of the useless lights they currently have. I'd happily sacrifice a few minutes battery time to have built-in strobes that help with seeing the drone and its orientation. Also, it would be good if there was an luminous orange shell option instead of the current camouflage 'cloudy sky' body colour.

Never purchased Mini 3 Pro, still waiting for a better drone. Definitely wanted omni-directional obstacle sensing. Would have preferred a better camera sensor.

Great content as always. I have been a drone flyer no since the mini 1 and really worried where the hobby is going. My Mavic 3 classic has had little use due to restrictions and the yearly updates are getting silly. I only got a mini 3 pro last year and cost me best part of a grand, and now it will be out of date soon? I love dji and its really exciting seeing leaks but having paid nearly 2k for my classic as a normal working dad worries me, how long will it last before its old news?

I've been through a process of Reducing the weight I carry on hikes. I already had Mavic 4 (sold due to weight but loved it) and kept my mini 3 pro which as you know is very light / small which gives me acceptable vid & photos. Im hoping the 4 WILL have the stacked sensor + ocusync 4. If so I for one will buy it (selling my mini 3 pro. Why a drone > principally for Ariel photography which need not be 400' in the sky. Simply use the drone to get the shot from an inaccessible position near my level I otherwise could not get. Great vid from you as always

Upgraded/bigger sensor Tracking in 4k60 Square sensor Weather sealing One or more of these upgrades is what would be required for me to upgrade from the Mini 3 Pro.

The omnidirectional sensing capability and compatibility with RC 2 / O4 HD would be the two things that would have me consider an upgrade from my Mini 3 Pro. There are some intelligent flight modes I won't use on the Mini 3 Pro because of the lack of omnidirectional sensing. I basically want a drone I can put in various follow modes and not have to worry about a crash because the drone couldn't sense a large obstacle. I take the Mini 3 with me on motorcycle trips because of the portability, but would likely use the Mini 4 Pro because of the potential worry-free use in autonomous modes. How much would I pay? Not much more than I paid for the Mini 3 Pro with Fly More kit and a few extra batteries, unless the batteries are backward compatible with the Mini 3 Pro.

I'm in the market, but it needs to be under a K or have an FLIR camera. My Mavic Mini is still amazing me, but things are moving on now. My worry is file size for edits and post-production speed... I don't want to spend a grand on a drone and find I need to fork out two more on a 'puter (I had to buy a new smartphone to fly the MM - just two months after I'd upgraded). When I went home, SWMBO was waiting for me like Flo waiting for Andy Capp... 😉

That is an issue for sure. Although to be fair, I rarely have issue with the file sizes. Especially if you setup the recording on the drone in the correct way etc.

I would guess its $700-$800 base price for only the drone, probably then has the fly more and fly more+ bundles, and you can get it with the RC-N2 or RC2 for similar prices to what you get now with the DJI mini 3 pro

Hi Sean I not upgrading from the Mini3 Pro and if I want to upgrade I will buy the Air3 C1. Within EASA it's better than a C0. If I buy the Air3 I will keep my Mini3 Pro for travelling outside EASA countries.

Given that I have an M3P and an Air 3 and that the M4P has the stacked sensor, omnidirectional sensors and most critically Occusync4 then I’d prob sell my M3P and upgrade. Especially if they sold it stand alone because I’d be 99% sure it would be compatible with the RC2 - so just one controller in my bag 😊

Definitely will be getting mini4 just for O4 and omnidirectional. The older sensor is still good for what I’m doing. Don’t think there will be stacked sensor in mini4.

Not bothered about omni directional senses. If it had a 20MP camera, then that would start me thinking. Just not enough to make me part company with the 3. Anyway, I'm not lining dji's pockets again until the CAA sorts itself out.

The real question you should be asking yourself " what do I use the footage/data collection for?" If its just for KZfaq/Instagram ect...there is no point in upgrading from the mini 3 Pro. Also with the regulations about to go through a huge change we shouldn't make any huge changes just yet.

Why do they continue to advertise signal strength in KMS ? With most countries operating a no BVLOS policy on drone flights doesn't this send out the wrong message to all new owners of a drone . I'm sure many reading 20kms range on the box , will see this as justification that they can flight out this far ? We don't advertise cars based on their top speed .

Because I am such a dumbass, I have had DJI replace 3, yes 3, Mini 3 Pros for me, due to my crashing them while flying sideways. It's possible that DJI wants this 360 OA out there in part to help preventing so many crashes :) But I love the Mini 3 Pro and, with all the accessories I have dumped into it, even a standalone Mini 4 would be a leap unless everything (especially batteries and the RC) were made compatible.

Not even on my radar. The spec update is minimal. 4k100 would be nice (but no 4k120? bahh), but it's still the same sensor. If it was bumped to f1.3, then maybe I'd consider it. But I'll pass on this one.

The DJI mini pro 3 is a great little drone, certainly worthy of tech refreshing, however, unless they put a 4/3 Hasselblad type camera in it, this line from DJI will remain targeted to the hobbyist without the image quality to use professionally. I have a mini 3 pro, and didn't see anything on the box in this video that was compelling me to upgrade my drone to a 4.

The question that nobody has asked is the gargles Integra will no longer work with the mini 4 pro or the air 3. So if you purchased all this equipment for the Mini pro 3 it would be obsolete for the next generation

Well giving the fact the Air3 camera for photography is like boiled Ham,Why would you buy a drone with the same horrible ham🤷. Canon and Nikon both tried the stacked sensors years ago and very soon dropped it. The Air 3 owner must be kicking themselves right now😅

I use my air 3 mainly for taking videos and my air 2s for photography
