I purchased one of these "wet suits" from Phantom Rain and had a couple email interactions with Coal Akida who sells them. First of all they aren't inexpensive. I paid 95$ USD plus shipping. So with the exchange on the Canadian dollar was over 150$ CAD. I wasn't impressed with it from my first look at it. Basically it's a bunch of neoprene stick-on pieces that tend to unstick in no time. He tells you to just push them back on and you're good for another month. Unacceptable. I also voiced my opinion that much of it is entirely cosmetic, Coal tried to justify that they aren't but they really are. The on/off button on the bottom isn't covered so if the rain is blowing or dripping around (aided by the props) it will get wet. Then there's the input/micro SD card slot, covered only by an elastic band. Yup, an elastic band. So that said I flew it today in the rain for the first time. Within a minute I received a CD Card Failure. I immediately landed and dried the drone off including the elastic band "over" the card slot. It was obvious moisture had seeped into the card slot as the card was damp when I ejected it. Videos I took prior to the rain video were ok, the rain video was totally corrupted. I'll let the drone dry off for a day or two and see if there was any internal damage. When I ordered I expected a form fitting "SUIT", not a bunch of pieces like a McDonald's Happy Meal toy. This is NOT worth the price being charged. If you want a drone that you can use in the rain then buy one that's rated for such, but using this so-called rain suit is a crap shoot and in time you will lose.

The weakest parts on the Mini are the Open Ports which will compromise the ESC module and the Sensors need to be protected which the Wet Suit does nicely

Coal is correct. I forget to mention, the suite is not complete installed. I am missing the compression band that protects the battery and SD compartment. I only install that part when i fly in the rain. Otherwise you do not need it.

The Mini 2 is a great drone. I still have mine and I really like it. I have my Mavic 2 Pro as well, Mavic 3, Mavic Air 2, Mavic Air 2S. Each drone has a special characteristic.

I'm affiliated with dji we had quite a strong percentage of people that returned the mini 3 with troubleshooting issues. It was by far the biggest release flop we have experienced to date.

No. The motors are not intended to be cover by the wetsuit. Those motors can negotiate water without problem, in fact, are the same motors used for submersibles. no problem with water at all. I am not the Wetsuit seller or anything like that. I just passing information.

@@edwardmoody4180 Not really. Just if the motors get wet with salt water, make sure to soke well with fresh water to prevent corrosion.

Mini 2. It was a mistake talking.

I don't think it's pointless as it makes it possible to film in heavy rain.(edit: I have since purchased this product and it's garbage)

@@Mitchelln99 It is partially pointless because no need to cover plastic because water can't go through them but only openings

@@Mitchelln99 no different to normal flying in the rain without it. there is nothing covering any seams, nothing covering the open motors, nothing going round the battery cover just stuck on it. not exactlya suit at all. now underneath you have the one/of button plus the rear light /button again places to get water in.. now what about the front of the drone / there are 2 vents on the front of the drone that in air t ocool the electrics, also huge gaps round behind the gimble that let air pass over the electricsand board that is covered in sensors and solder joints...this is more of a slight rubber bumper, definitely not anything to stop the water getting inside the main body of the drone.. if you want to take your drone out in the rain you would be better of spraying a whole large can of wd 40 all over and inside the drone to repel water (wd = water dispersant ). the price of these few bits of skinny neoprene and a elastic band is absolutely mental.. this would NOT be cheap @ $20. Normal vynil wrap does more to waterproof the drone than this stuff....... like i say its a very slight bumper.. oh and NO MENTION OF WEIGHT....

@@philldownes8685 your correct That was two months ago I since bought it and it is a joke I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I've since seen the error in my way's. This is very pointless.
