I don't own either of these products but I like them both and was curious how one might connect the 2. I do have the Fimi Palm and I was able to create similar external mic solution using the same method (3rd party adapter). Thanks for sharing.

Will this configuration work with the original Osmo Pocket?

You can connect directly the jack to the osmo port, without using the usb c. It also works perfect and you have the usb c free, for charging purpose for example. The only down side is that if you connect the phone to usb c, as a monitor, then the mics will not work. If you rely only on osmo monitor, then works perfect.

I did this as well. I connected the 1/8” inch to the side of the handle and it worked perfectly. Then I realized that I wasn’t even using the Movo cable that I just bought for 20 bucks. 😕

I use Pocket 2 to record bands...Marty Sender You Tube and I use inboard mics..take a listen

When I tried the Movo cable, I can monitor sound, see the audio meters working but when I played back the footage, the wireless didn't work...When I connected to the 3.5mm I get audio from BOTH DJI Wireless and I can see the audio levels on the Pocket 2 right hand screen..Why no audio when using the Movo cable into my USB-c port on my all-in-one handle. I am using the 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable that came with the Pocket 2...I even tried another USB-c cable with no luck getting audio. Anybody have any suggestions?

Hey! Is it possible to connect the Mic Transmitter, that came with the DJI Pocket 2 Creator Combo, with the receiver of the DJI Mic? Im asking, since there is a Version of the DJI Mic, in which you only get 1x Receiver and 1x Transmitter. So to still have two Mics connected to the receiver, i'd like to use the Pocket 2 Mic. Thanks!

Afraid not. The P2 mic doesn’t connect to the DJI Mic receiver. You’ll have to use one or the other w the P2.

Yes u can ..u connect the osmo pocket mic to the dji wireless transmitter through the audio cable and then u have two mic to reocord

Tried a couple other options but didn’t get reliable results. Movo seems to be the best choice.

May I ask a question, I want to take the audio from my Boss Gigcaster which is basically the same as your Rode unit. Can I take the USB port from the Gigcaste rwhichis USBc to the Pocket2 so I can record my gigs that I do. I am a solo musician and want to record some of my gigs I do at coffee shops etc, but want the quality of the Pocket camera and the audio of the gig caster. Any idea if this will work. Many Thanks

I don’t believe that direct connection idea will work but you can always record the audio and edit it to you video in post. The problem is the line out of your Boss is likely too hot for the P2, and would need to be hard wire connected anyway. I think you’ll be much happier using the P2 just for the video and syncing the audio to it later.

Is there any significant benefit in using this USB C Adapter option over the 3.5mm option, when you already have the ‘Do it All Handle’? This solution sounds great for just having the basic (short) versie of the Pocket (2), but I think it’s overkill when you’re already using the ‘Do it All Handle’.

When using the 3.5mm option we sporadically experienced noise in the audio. It wasn't consistent, but troubling enough that using the cable provided more reliable results.

Why not use the mic that comes with the Pocket 2?

That works well unless you’re interviewing another person. Sometimes 2 mics come in handy.

I did not buy the Creator Combo. Just the regular package without all the extra stuff. I did not get the "DJI Do-It-All Handle". I need this to be able to use any wireless mic at all?

If you have just the P2 unit, you won’t be able to use wireless because there’s no Bluetooth connectivity and no port to plug in a receiver. You’ll use the on board mics only. The DIA handle is really handy.

Yes...it's my favorite use for the mics. Add a lav mic plugged in and it's perfect

You could just use the mics to record and clap really loud when you start filming, blending the sound in post

I now have a collection of adapters and none of them do what you are doing. The only reason I want to go from the 3.5mm jack on the handle is I am getting choppy audio and want to try the usb instead. I have everything the same as you and nothing works.

Can you share what brand of mic you’re trying? And what firmware? We may need to do an update video because it’s entirely possible DJI has made things easier now and perhaps the connection requirements have changed. Just guessing.

Good info. One question. If using the 2 external mics in this configuration, the audio track recorded in the Pocket 2 will be a mixed stereo channel? I would love to do something like this but have one external mic on the left and the other mic on the right. That way I can split the audio channels in post. Anyone got any solutions?

Only way to get split tracks is to also record on the internal transmitter drive, then transfer the audio to your editor and adjust from there. The audio recorded to the P2 will be a stereo mix.

You can set the receiver to combine both mics into one mono file or record them on two tracks in stereo. Your choice.@@girlsontheloose1

You're totally wrong.We hooked up the 3/5 from the Mic 2 receiver to the side of the Osmo Pocket 2 and it works great. Why would you hook up through the charging part of the Osmo? We hooked it to the rig and see it in the phone monitor with the sound.

I lost my Dji Pocket 2 mic so i ordered another one. Someone found it and returned it to me. Now I have pocket mics 😂 Think this video mite work similar?

Nope. Need a receiver for the mics and the P2 on board receiver can only handle one mic.

If you buy the DJI Extension Rod for the Pocket 2, it has the hot shoe mount built in plus remote controls to operate everything from the rod handle. It’s more expensive than the maxcam, but it does have greater functionality and a hot shoe mount for the DJI Mic receiver.

"plug in the adapter cable that you got with your mics" nope- didn't receive any adapter cable with it- infact, it isn't sold with any adapter cable. please explain yourself...

DJI Mics come w an 1/8” to 1/8” cable in the kit
