That's a great video; thanks for sharing! Quick question: are you able to lock the exposure on a specific area of the screen by touching it, similar to how a GoPro does? For instance, if you're indoors and want to adjust the exposure for the outside light through a window?

Thanks for the detailed menu dive, really like the layout. Have DJI restricted what mic it can use do you know? I have the Rode Go but don’t see any inputs for this or any other mic. I know it’s early days but any idea what the battery life is like with and without the battery handle? I see a spare one sets you back another £60, which is quite expensive for essentially just a 950mah battery. Thanks again 👍

From what I can find out the mic 2 only works with this and since there’s no 3mm plug any third party would need to connect via usb C, I don’t have the first gen DJI mic to verify that but do have the rode so will be testing that shortly

I’d love to see a white balance capture option for a custom like on Sonys etc where you can use a colour checker and take a snapshot of that and colour grade to it

Is it possible to use the built-in microphones in the Pocket 3, and at the same time use the associated external microphone, so that you can record 2 people at the same time?

I don’t think so as once the mic2 connects it overrides the intervals , you can however connect 2 x mic2 once they make additional ones available

Can it record timelapses in portrait mode. Also does pocket 3 have motion lapse and hyperlapse options? If possible can you do a comparison of features between pocket 2 and pocket 3. Example: pocket 2 doesn't have speakers, built-in wifi and Bluetooth, etc but pocket 3 seems to have it.

Yes to your first 3 questions which are great I dont have a pocket 2 to do a comparison, however I am planning on doing one against the pocket 1

It looks awesome, especially with the tracking, and the new screen...but oof, it's $700+ here in Canada...the combo is over $900+ CDN. The price tag is a wee bit steep.

Yes this is true, once you go into slow mo mode it defaults back to normal video codec

Correction, I just checked and you can object track when in 1080p, 120, it also works at2.7k 120, but no object tracking at 4k

It’s for connecting to your computer to act as live stream or I believe it can also work with a phone, it also doubles are the charger for the unit, built in extra battery handle and mic

When I get a micro sd adapter and plug it into my iPad to view it in my files, it saves it as the year 2000 do you know of any way that I could change the default or edit the date so it saves correctly

Hi Darren I am trying to charge the Pocket 3 battery handle, plugging it into a pc using the supplied cable and it isnt charging however the camera does charge. How do you charge yours? It doesnt showing up on screen next to the camera battery either. I can tap to get camera charge % but no battery handle graphic. Any ideas? Cheers

I charged mine from a wall plug, I’m not sure that the PC USB output would be high enough to charge but I could be wrong on that

You need a more powerful charger than PC usb out - I was surprised by this too, in fact even a wall plug type really wants to be PD style. Also it won't charge if it s nearly full might be 95%

I cant see any difference between the rotational speeds, might be just mine, each of the three takes about 10 seconds for a full rotation.

Only taken a couple of test images with it so far and looks ok, I did some digging on the MP and it comes in at just 9.4mp so I just reached out to DJI support and got this response back “While Osmo Pocket 3 has a lower effective pixel count than its previous counterparts, it boasts a larger sensor of 1", surpassing the 1/1.7" size of its predecessor. Additionally, Osmo Pocket 3 has achieved a pixel size of 3.2 µm, representing an approximately 300% increase from DJI Pocket 2.”

Surprisingly good DNG and jpg obvious quite limited rather wide angle but good colours and not noisy or too many artefacts

That's just a link to download latest app, the app works well with this and gives useful extra features for example start tracking any object when not right by the camera.
