This is excellent, not only you're great at explaining the technique, you have also mixed the audio for your video very very well. Your levels are just right. I like how you switched the audio path from your in room speakers, to a direct input for the audio channel for the video, when you make a demonstration. This pro quality work all the way through.

Hi guys, Due to health issues I couldn't finish video's I was working on (NS7-2 review) and I can't record new video's either. I lost my voice over the weekend and that makes it a bit difficult to record stuff ;) I should be fine in a couple of days so stay tuned! djTLMtv dj TLM, Thanks for the tutorials. They are the bomb. I have a question. Do you have any tips for scratching with a Pioneer DDJ-SR. Since the jog weels are motorized, I find it a little harder to get that same sound of the baby scratch and drops from your tutorial. Can you help a Brother out? -dj damonJ

Thanks for this video brah. Salute. I down loaded the tracks you used and my practice session consists of me using what you've shown us for the entire track. Baby scratch over the beat with the left hand for the duration of the song and then do the same with the right hand. Your vids are to the point with no fluff and you really break it down. Salute.

I have an idea for the problem of knowing how far you need to take the record back. Like on some controllers, you have this on (mine) CDJs 350, too. For that you need to set the Cue right before the sound starts. Then you let the sound go and pull back the record. You need to do this a few times, and soon you become a feeling for how far you need to pull back the record. Very easy, you just need to practise.

Awesome! Times like this I need to put my turntables into good use whilst at home! Always wanted to learn to scratch... I don’t use a computer, love old hip hop, Public Enemy, De La Soul etc etc etc... recommend any good vinyl’s, or would you use a start with a vocal to eventually drop?
@djTLMtv

You mean good vinyl to practice scratching? Because you can basically use any record and any sound to practice. But if you would prefer to have a nice collection of “scratch sounds” on vinyl you should look for battle breaks like “Super Duck Breaks”, “Scratchy Seal” and tons more

To scratch and drop, what part of the music is normally scratched and what to listen for to drop on the beat so both sides are beat matching. I haven't found a tutorial on scratching and keeping the beats matched at the same time.
