I'm a very basic beginner, and these videos are gold. I watched them years ago and just started watching them again. These videos were one of my first stops when I first wanted turntables. that being said there are 2 things I would add upon this video. If your on DVS treat your needle with respect or the time code won't sync properly, and practice with both hands. I used a virtual third deck for the beat and put the practice sound on both of my turntables.
@em9886
@em9886 Жыл бұрын
I didn't know that. I was practicing scratching with a DVS system and noticed that the needle kept skipping back. I think I was being a little too aggressive with the scratching.

Thank you DJ TLM, you really helped me learn scratching. I wouldn't have afford to go out and learn from a training and was really desperate to learn the scratching. I have strictly followed your instructions to go step by step and that really helped. Part 1 and Part 2 especially was highly effective and the best found in youtube for beginners for scratching.

Nice vid, thanks for sharing your knowledge! I've just started DJing in bedroom and scratching with hip hop beats. I think vinyl gives you the best environment and perfectly ergonomic platter size for scratching, and small controllers have jogwheels that are not motorized, so its hard to scratch on them. (Although it is not impossible)

I just revisited this video just to make sure I’m doing everything correct after about three months of scratching. I started out with the controller, but I can’t imagine anybody is using a turntable with a competent needle & watching this unless they were gifted that setup!
