not meaning to be critical but it seems to me that you got the LED strip in backwards... should it not be directed INSIDE the reflector - the way the FLD bulb was? so as to provide more even illumination? the next video (part 4) shows what seems to be a refurbished display with a fairly strong line across the centre.... at any rate - thanks for your hard work putting these together.... very useful for many of us!

Hi, Great video! The backlight has died on my PC3x which I have been told is the same as the K2500X. I want to try and replace the backlight, considering the actual LCD is still perfect with no dead pixels. Do you know if the Fluroscent tube can be replaced without modifying/removing the HV board? If so can fluroscent tubes that small be purchased?

OverdubAudio Personally i wouldn't try and replace the CCFT, just swap it for some LEDs like i did.

easily replaceable part , yes... though as dexter mentions LEDs may well outlast an FL tube...

Wow, that's pretty discouraging to know that they still haven't upgraded those old electroluminescent (EL) foil back lit lcd screens that they used on the K2000 with proper LED screens that never burn out - which are readily available online. Even more discouraging that a back light in something as new as a PC3x has died already. I thought they changed to LED screens with the K2600 but likely not if they're not in a PC series. I have a K2661 in mint condition, the screen is still nice and bright but I try to keep the brightness down knowing this. I bought one of said ultra bright LED screens to replace the burned out screen in my Yamaha TG-77 years ago and it's great, so bright I can read it from across the room. They run about $65 on Ebay, just make sure it's LED and not EL. One issue though when installing the new screen in the TG77 was that it didn't exactly fit properly so I had to actually cut away some of the circuit board and solder in jumper wires where the circuit paths had been severed to make it fit. A real pain in the ass but in the end it worked and haven't had a problem with since.

I repaired my mark 4 for popping.. now it takes an hour for it to play on pitch .. if you adjust the change key switch it jumps flat as u go up after the center range when it gets warmed up it goes back to the right key

Cleaning corrosion from the pins would be an ideal start. Often they fail for lack of proper contact.

do you now if the pc3k video generation haves a dedicated chip? recently i made a mistake connecting the flat of the front panel on to the lcd slot on the main engine, now my lcd stay lit all the time, no video signal at all.

Greetings i have a k2500 keyboard and the screen is permanently on full contrast and i cannot turn it down. I think it as also effected the controller section of the keyboard. The Pitch bend , both sliders, and sw2 not working can you help or advise.

+Colvin Meeks First off i would check voltages from the power supply, i doubt the screen could affect the rest of the keyboard in that way so i think your problem is elsewhere.
