Hey. Could you do a teardown of an Ohmeda Biox 3760 pulse oximeter? I have a lot of medical issues, but when I was a child in the 90s, that was the first pulse oximeter I used and while I have much higher grade monitors these days, I will never forget the Ohmeda Biox 3760, and I want to see inside! ChatGPT said there's a VFT inside of it, but ChatGPT said that the Ohmeda Biox 3700 has a VFT, but we obviously saw in your video ChatGPT was wrong. I LOVED the Ohmeda Biox 3760 and want to understand what's inside of it!

QUESTION.. how did you remove the small circuit board on the bottom of that motor .. and how to reattach it to the new Mabuchi motor. I have 18 of them. Thank you.

I wonder if its posible to change the speaker on the board, for some reason these speakers tend to sound quiet to me and i wanted to switch them out for louder ones.

The hard drives fit in where you are going to put them and use the small screws to lock it in place.

What about getting your hands on a Duel EPYC Server that could accommodate maybe 60x 100TiB Data Center solid state drives and using that in conjunction with the Quantel Paintbox.

I’ve got a projector screen that uses a Somfy motor. It sometimes has a slight, creaky.. creak.. creak when it rolls up. Been studying your video to wonder where to shoot some lube in it without tearing it all down 😄

Used these a lot back in the 90s for online editing. The thing that struck you first was the amazing blue glow from the LEDs, and the flying faders would really kick back at you! The Editbox audio editing GUI took some time to get used to (e.g. having an audio clip at the end of your 'pen', plus limited visual resolution on screen, no zoom-in option - VERY different when moving to and from Avid Media Composer!)... but yes, well built, robust, did the job :). Same on the Henry too.

I just did this upgrade on a CQ model GMC-300S, which came equipped with a Chinese glass J321 tube (M4011 equivalent). I did need to relocate both tube holders as shown in this video. Since the J321 sensitivity is 158.3 CPM per mR/h and the SBM-20 is 175 CPM per mR/h, all I did was change the CPM levels in the three Calibrate points. Calibrate 1: From 1,538 to 1,750 Calibrate 2: From 15,380 to 17,500 Calibrate 3: From 30,760 to 35,000 With the above CPM changes, the mR/h and uSv/h levels should not be changed.

I invested in a number 9 gxitc graphics accelerator back in 1992. I remember it cost around $2,200 and it was the most expensive graphics card I had bought yet.

Don't go directly to Ludlum, go through a distributer. If they happen to take your order they simply pass the order off to the nearest distributor to you. You can get replacement battery terminals from them. I've repaired damaged cases by removing circuit board & immersing the case so all corroded damaged areas are immersed in vinegar for several hours. Check occasionally wire brushing loose debris. Rinse. Now remove the battery terminals. I had to get the tool to remove the metal terminal - basically a spanner wrench. Brush on primer designed for aluminum. Color match some enamel & brush it on.

This was the first generation 300E, by the time you uploaded this video they already had the plus version that uses a more standard 14500 cell lithium battery. Thankfully the process is still the same for swapping this tube in.

Is it worth installing SBM-20 tube? Glass one is not reliable in fallout survival?

Reading the manual, I was unclear on how a piezo was being used as the power source (my Russian is terrible). I had assumed it was an impact device that would charge a capacitor. I see now that it's a pure mechanical-compression approach, and a screw-press essentially loads the piezo stack to create the charging voltage, and setting the compressive load via the knob effectively sets the charging voltage to zero out the electrometer in each pen. Low total energy, but you don't need much to charge the electroscope in the pen dosimeter. Also, the "arrester" I assumed was just a bare spark gap. But a gas discharge tube makes much more sense. Given how bog simple this thing is, I'm actually kinda impressed. It ain't necessarily pretty, but it'd be pretty reliable in an emergency, and could sit in cold storage close to forever. Old Civil Defense units in the US often used a chemical battery, which always seemed less ideal to me.

I have one of these units, the tray is stuck and the damper won't turn. Was going to bypass the cables going to the stepper motor, but I would be helpful knowing the model # of the stepper motor. However I am sure 8 years later your unit is gone, Just asking incase someone else has such a unit.

Yeah I remember these in the Consolidated Automated Support System I used in the Navy for testing avionics equipment. The CASS station would run Test Program Sets from those MO discs to control the Automated Test Environment, which would send all manner of signals to the connected avionics to simulate what it would see while in use in the aircraft, etc. Many of the tests had to have comprehensive I/O for whatever piece of gear. So in a sense, those discs would tell you exactly how a given piece of equipment worked. Some of them had Secret handling requirements for that reason (kept in a KABA MAS safe and you'd have to check them out).

Great example of over engineering and ingenues design however if you get an indication on the meter it is either in battery test or your are in a bad place !!!. Geiger Muller are more sensitive. The smell of 1950 electronics is indeed wonderful, probably the CFC's and the fungicide they used for tropical environments.. Makes a great door stop. Later models only needed 2 D cells as they had solid state circuitry and slightly better performance but the case remained unchanged and the centre battery slot for the 30v and 9v batteries is not connected. Thanks for the video.
