In this video, we look at 5 things that Christians should really stop saying. In the world we live in, it can become so easy to get swallowed up by what people say and do. It is easy to become part of the world and do what unbelievers do and say. But we are called to be set apart and to be holy. A true Christian lifestyle is one that shines its light in the darkness, not a lifestyle that becomes part of the darkness. If you are not careful you start saying certain things out of habit, the unfortunate thing is that not all habits are good.
In Psalm 141:3 David asks God to "Set a guard, O Lord, Over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips [to keep me from speaking thoughtlessly]." - Amplified Bible
I want to challenge you to break free of bad habits, and to think before you speak. Follow David's example and pray to God to help you on your quest to speak only truth and not speak thoughtlessly.

Something a lot of people misinterpret about curse word is the context. Any word can be a bad word if used in the wrong context. When you think of “bad” words they really only become bad if used in a sinful way. Like if you say “f!ck you!” To someone then that’s obviously used in a sinful sinful manor. But if you are talking with a friend and say “man that sh!t was crazy” then your actually not using it in a bad way. If you call someone stupid then your using the word stupid in a bad way therefore using as a bad word. I hope you understand what I mean. I wanna say one thing tho. In the Bible God says to listen to and obey your parents, and if your parents tell you not to curse then you are disobeying them and going against what God says. I also wanna say I’m not condoning curse words to constantly slip out you mouth. In our society we have created this shield around curse words saying they are wrong no matter what, so I wouldn’t urge you to start dropping the f-bomb around your boss.

All my life since I was a kid I used the phrase OMG thinking nothing of it. It was the Holy Spirit that made me realize that saying that phrase was infact using God's name in vein. I felt so low when I realized what I had been doing all along. Now that I know I no longer use that common phrase. I'm so grateful that the Holy Spirit opened my eyes. Thank you father for your forgiveness.

Nice message. I was a fraction of a second from a head-on collision and 'Oh, my God' immediately came out of my mouth as a prayer. It's not something I say in vain. I walked away from an accident in which my car was totaled. Praise God!

+ you have to be clear when you speak about being Muslim because they have "their god" which is Allah and I know their god is not the real God in heaven. So when people speak I wish they would say God in heaven. So many false gods in this world but 1 true real God and He is in heaven.

I grew up "christian" but never understood what any of it meant. I was bullied by a pastor at the age of 10 into getting saved; being threatened with going to hell and burning in a lake of fire, never being able to see my family again. This left a lot of resentment in my newfound "faith". Having never even opened a bible, at the age of 17 I became an atheist. A lot of hardships have fallen on me in the past 6 years, but at the age of 23 one day it all became clear. I found your video because I've been shown the true love of God. I feel like a new person. I've truly been saved. I thank God for the new life he's given me. Even people I see on a daily basis can't put their finger on what it is, but that I've changed. I'm learning now what it truly means to live for Christ. Thank you for this helpful video brother.

I just found your channel today and I love the way you explain scripture. I used to doubt my salvation because of my past, however, I prayed to God that I may be forgiven and washed clean of my sins. For I believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and was resurrected back to life! Being a sinner and knowing that I am saved has made me so grateful, it has brought me to tears. Thank you God for blessing all who believe in your son, our savior, Jesus Christ. Why? I am an athiest so I may not know about this subject, but I find religions interesting. Is cursing a sin? I've heard lots of Christians cuss.

Snake :3 Some cuss words are sinful. Words that use Gods name as a cuss word are for sure. In other words, using his name “in vain”. Cuss words that tear people down are sinful. Also words that disrespect sexuality is also very common in cuss words. Personally I find that sinful. The purpose of cuss words are to be crude, either for comedic effect, a reaction, or insult. The Bible says this in Ephesians 4:29. “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” I definitely think unwholesome talk can include cuss words, but it can include any kind of insult or crude way of speaking. Personally, I think cussing is something I don’t want in my life even though it is a habit that I sometimes have. Some Christians argue that it’s okay to cuss as long as you aren’t using it as an insult. I don’t know if i necessarily agree, but take what you will.

Sam, I had already been in a place where I was trying to be very close to the Lord and keep my mind focused on him, centered on him at all times. So I was spending time worshiping and praying and praising him all throughout the day even while I was working. One day I looked at someone, and in my head and heart I was irritated and I was thinking negative thoughts about that person. I asked myself why did this blankety-blank do this? And the Lord spoke to me strong and clear in my spirit and told me not to even think swearwords in my head. So I immediately changed my question to “God,why did this person you created, decide to do this thing or say that thing? It makes me so angry.” So in my head I started to replace the swearwords with good words, to describe people and situations and it changed my heart. I would also pray for the person & situation. God is our source of everything. So even though he gave me that way of doing this; it was really him changing me. Because we can’t change ourselves.

I accept Jesus Christ as LORD .. use me to do your will and your works in Jesus Christ name" .. you have to be specific about who you're praying too .. because the devil and his demons hang in the second Heaven .. they will steal your prayers .. that's why you say "Father God in Heaven .. in Jesus name" 😉👍🏽

Once you ask Jesus into your heart, the Holy Spirit comes to live in your heart. Read “God’s word” the Bible. Begin with the New Testament (the book of John is a good place to start. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were 4 of Jesus’ disciples and told Jesus story in their own words.) This will “fill” you and guide you with the “nourishment” you need. Then pray to be released of saying “OMG, foul language, and any other “bad habits you may have.” Trust God the Father, God the son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. He will NOT leave you NOR forsake you.

Good for you and all glory to God!🙌😁 I want to give a word of caution, not to dampen your spirit or make you doubt yourself, but to help channel that enthusiasm correctly. Don't aim to be a role model or a good person. It will inevitably lead to performance pressure and burn-out. Aim to live a life of faith in Jesus, following Him every step of the way. He will lead you to (and provide what you need to) become more like Him...that will automatically be an example worth following (but there will be those who will scoff at your Godly approach to life - that's their problem. Pray for them and carry on). It is an amazing journey with God. One that is filled with trials, but knowing it is all for the glory of God Almighty and Jesus Christ (whom I love and who saved me from myself) - it is all worth it! [PS: measure what I say(or anybody else says) up to the Word of God. Test and confirm whether it is in fact true. The Bible is your primary and supreme source of truth. God answered my prayer after two days. My best friend who I call my little brother his mom has been struggling to feed their family of 7. I prayed to God that I may be able to help them get food. I work for a home health company and my patient received a lot of food from the food pantry and did not need most of it. I was able to get 5 boxes of food that I was able to give him and his family. I thanked God he answered my prayer.

I swore a lot in 8th grade because my class mates did and I wanted to fit in. Every time I swore I felt guilty. I’ve stopped now and feel better. Sometimes one word may slip out so I ask for forgiveness right after.

You forgot to mention when people say “Jesus Christ “ like it’s a curse word, l hate that, when I watch a movie and they use the Lords name in vain or like a curse word I stop watching it. That is the utmost disrespect to our Lord and Savior. You don’t hear Hollywood say oh Mohamed or Buddha but they sure love to use Jesus Christ. I was watching “King Kong” movie and it was good at first but when one of the actors kept saying “Jesus Christ” when something went wrong l had to stop watching it. It made me cringe and it was disturbing. That’s how you can tell that Jesus is the one true God and Savior because the devil will have people to disrespect his holy name. Notice how the devil, he doesn’t use those other false religious name because it means nothing, but he will use Jesus name because he want people to go against the One true God.

I had a friend who used to say "Jesus...." when he was frustrated, and I would quickly follow up with "....is my Savior." Years later, he thanked me. It took a while, but finally the thought that this was against the 2nd Commandment entered his mind and as far as I know he stopped.

The Bibe says:" They honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me" This PROVES that true christians should not say things like what was already discribed, or ANY foul language for that matter. I remember when I was younger, and sometimes, being angry, I said things without regret. Including unwanted language. But after I got baptized, and became a true Christian, (,this was before) I never said anything I would regret. Sometimes we make mistakes, because we are human. But it is through God's grace, that we are saved.

I’m a coach, and my poor teenage girls get cussed and cursed out by their own parents during a game. Especially if they are not playing right. I always pray for my girls before a game, because their parents don’t know how they are damaging their own children. Encourage your children, don’t curse them. Mistakes are part of motor development/ learning.

This is a sad thing. Very sad. Why? Because true (professed) Christians need to read the Bible-it is our lifeline. Let me explain: ---> “But he answered, "It is written, "'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" - Matthew 4:4 / AND. / “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. All you do is try to provoke anger or foul language which was my comment to Daniel in the first place, and not to you. You are for sure just a self righteous, self proclaimed false prophet split tongue snake as the very words you threw around so loosely. Thus I suggest getting yourself a life, read your own Bible and ask God Almighty to show you some truth other than the utter nonsense you taught yourself. My daughter Isabella is aged 13. She told me that she always starts with Jesus, and it’s for that reason that the only time on her daily schedule where she watches a video of JFK, is at dinner time. For the rest, she always makes time for Christ.

I am a Muslim, and a appreciate this from my heart. I feel great pain when I see my Christian friends in utter distraction from God's commands nowadays(not that Muslims including me are perfect). I believe that Bible can also lead us to the Almighty One if read with open eyes.

The truth is valid and available to EveryOne, Muslim (= Disciple of God) or not. And you made a very good point when you said that the Bible Leads us all to The Almighty read with an “Open heart”... I would suggest you, if I may, and encourage you to ask yourself again because you probably did about “Why did Ibrahim sacrifice a lamb or other animals to God?" And every time you get an answer, go deeper and Keep On asking "But WHY?". KEEP ON ASKING UNTIL GOD LEADS YOU TO THE ULTIMATE AND FINAL REASON WHY IBRAHIM DID OFFER A SACRIFICE. Remember that Jesus is God. The reason the religious leaders had Jesus crucified is because Jesus claimed to be Equal with God many, many tines. The Quran tells us that the Gospels are inspired by God. The Gospels are the first four books in the New Testament.
