First i want to say i love your T shirt, really cool : ) thank you sooo much for putting this video up of the Sightron SV which is the scope i was primarily looking at purchasing. It is very expensive and will be my most expensive scope i have ever owned but hear sooo many good things about it. I am going to mount this on my Rapid Air Weapon RAW HM1000x. in 25 Cal for shooing long range 200 - 300 yrs with an air rifle. Keep posting more vids, thanks : )

I bought the delta 5-50 for my tikka rimfire and getting rid of my xtr 2. Could have gotten a uso b25 for only 2k but thought it was unnecessary to pay 600 more for it

I’ve narrowed my choice down to either the Sightron SV 10-50x60 or the Delta 4.5-50x56. I’m able to either one at the same cost. What do you think would be bet to buy, in other words which one do you like best. I value your opinion so please reply.

I assume you are talking about the 5-50x56 Delta Stryker, right? They also have a 4.5-30x56, but that is an entirely different animal, being FFP and all. Between the 5-50x56 Stryker and 10-50x60 SV ED, the choice really depends on the application. If this is a dedicated target shooting scope where low magnification does not matter and slow focus of the Sightron is an advantage, go with the SV ED (make sure it is the ED model). As a general purpose scope that can be used for a ton of things including target shooting, Delta Stryker is a better choice (and the one I use). Stryker also has closer focus if that matters.

Do you prefer the Delta Stryker 4.5-30x56 FFP Mil or 5-50x56 SFP MOA for precision rifle optics?
@DarkLordOfOptics
@DarkLordOfOptics 3 жыл бұрын
That depends on the type of shooting you plan to do. High magnification SFP precision scopes are at their best on F-Class and benchrest guns. For PRS-type shooting, I prefer FFP. Besides, given the two specific scopes you mention, I have no use for MOA precision scopes at all. I am a mrad and FFP guy for most things. I do have the Delta 5-50x56 (with mrad reticle and turrets) and it sits on an accurate rimfire most of the time, since where I live high magnification is mostly useful at closer distances.

Delta Stryker, Vortex Razor HD Gen II & Leupold Mk 5 HD are all the same price (last 2 with LEO/mil discount). Which of the 3 would be your choice for shooting a 6mm bolt-action rifle from benchrest? Or is there a better choice in the same price range?

I'll start a tread on the community board with this. It is a good question.

Thanks. I’d also be interested in the magnification range & reticle you’d recommend with the scope for this purpose.

Hi. I was wondering if you were to compare the Delta Strykers 4.5-30×56 against the 5-50×56 with magnification set on both at 30 would the one with lesser magnification overall give a better/clearer sight picture when shooting at longer distances in low light or would they be the same?
@DarkLordOfOptics
@DarkLordOfOptics 3 жыл бұрын
I'll try to do a side-by-side to be sure, but if my recollection is correct, the 5-50x56 is slightly better on 30x than the smaller scope, but it is very close. It is mostly a function of the scope design and the way the objective of the 5-50x56 is designed, it should be slightly better on 30x. Besides, SFP scopes are slightly easier to design than FFP.

Hi, thanks for your answer. I have a March 5-32×50 scope that I use for shooting rabbits at long range, my mate uses a NXS 8-32×56 scope. We both reckon his scope is a little better when the light gets a bit low so I was looking at maybe a scope like his but then seen that I could buy a new Delta Stryker for a few hundred dollars more than what a second hand NXS scope cost here in NZ and thought that might be a good option.

Do you have a sense for how these compare to the Nightforce Competition 15-55X52?

Hard to say. That is one of the few NIghtforces I have very little mileage with.

I have not really tested the Javelin. I would start by choosing the reticle that works better for you.

Any thoughts on Sightron SVIII 5-40x56? How does it stack up against its direct competition? Спасибо!

@@DarkLordOfOptics I went ahead and ordered one. Will see how it compares to NF 7-35 F1, K624i and ZP5. I’m interested to see how well will the reticle work with it’s 0.03 Mil lines and dots and an 8x erector.

@@DarkLordOfOptics Will do. Another question: does a larger 40mm main tube has any other advantages besides allowing for more internal adjustment? Any optical benefits?
@DarkLordOfOptics
@DarkLordOfOptics 2 жыл бұрын
@@tony6br182 That's very design dependent. Generally, more real estate is a good thing, especially when you dealing with high erector ratio scopes. In terms of pure image quality, on-axis, it does not make a ton of difference. If you want a high erector ratio scope with good depth of field, forgiving parallax and lots of adjustment range, having more space helps.
