I love how the angel mode has cool moves that's named after stuff in space and then in demon mode you just have a move called "Divorce"

That's the one thing I dig about this games Dante and Vergil. When it comes to their swords, the rebellion takes on a different form of the power, while the Yamato, just channels the energy of it.

I surprisingly liked the slower moveset this Vergil has. Like this Vergil lacks the finesse of the original and instead resorts to pure brutal force with primodorial swordplay. Very fitting given his character in the reboot.

Devil May Cry is more like an anime And Dmc is more like a Netflix adaptation

Has anyone else noticed that he has more abilities with Yamato than the original Vergil

As much as people like to crap on this game for its bad voice acting & ludicrous story, you gotta admit that the game had some good ideas. The Angel & Demon mode mechanic was interesting & some of the level design was made with that mechanic in mind. The whole of DmC’s underworld being within Limbo is also interesting, kinda reminds me of how in Bayonetta you can only see Angels & Demon within Purgatorio. Hell, some of Reboot Vergil’s moves were given to main timeline, aka the original version of Vergil. & when it comes to Devil May Cry as a whole, you can never go wrong with a fight between Vergil & Dante.

Of course he'll be unmotivated, he doesn't have that much power like original Vergil. The thing is, the DLC is Vergil's path to becoming the Vergil most people know, to obtain that motivation. At least, that's how I understand it.

Prettyy good moveset

One move that looks pretty good to me is flare. The thing about this Vergil's moveset is that the after effects look a little limp, the actual hits dont seem to have much impact, and the re-sheathing seems too robotic. Animations just seem a little off overall

Vergilio have the sensation of actually slicing and cutting with his attacks. Vergil smacks and slams with his sword. Like his weapons does not have a blade.

Pretty neat Devil May Cry 5 took the idea of Vergil being able to summon a doppelganger from this game.

I wish Vergil from 4 and 5 kept Aerial Flush, Drive and Stomp, those moves were so amazing.

honestly i like the idea of having 3 different yamato movesets rather than giving vergil multiple devil arms outright in dmc we always see vergil using the yamato only most of the time with exceptions like in dmc3 where he will switch between beowulf and yamato in the second fight, and same with force edge and yamato, but in dmc5 its all yamato however when you play as vergil by the rules of stylishness and for each situation you will use a bunch of weapons, specially in dmc3 where the yamato was more of a weapon you used in short bursts rather than a main one i think it would be neat if vergil was playable in dmc6 with a mainline-ified version of angel, neutral and demon modes (could name it after sword stances but im not knowledgeable on that topic) and have this also apply to beowulf (like say, a stance where beowulf behaves as it does in dmc1 and another where it works like dmc3 vergil's with rising star and the chargeless combos as a neat callback) though yamato demon mode here is actually closer to dmc1 ifrit which is pretty cool actually like the potential this moveset idea had was pretty cool but not done very well here since this DLC was rushed but would be interesting if a new dmc game revisited ideas, we already have DMC4/5SE giving vergil slow samurai cuts with the yamato while in DT, what if that was a style for the yamato focused on slow cuts, and then a neutral style thats just the usual vergil, and a style with things like the yamato stinger and roundtrip as a force edge replacement

hard to admit most of vergil's moveset here inspired the large upgrade to dmc3 vergil's moveset in the future games

OG Vergil fnas crying because this version doesnt attack as fast as the OG, has no other weapons, and basically is not a copy past as they wish. Bro this is an adaptation and reimagination of the original Vergil im glad with the changes they did. Its sad how this game ended.

Gameplay is unique. I like his moveset and how different it is. Angel and Demon mode was pretty cool and adds to the playstyle. Kinda wish he had more than just Yamato but game was heavily scrutinized. Wish we got a bit more.

Tbh the moveset wasn't the problem, heck they're actually good, but the problem lies in the animation it just feels lackluster, i mean the animation for sheathing the sword did not align well and arm looks off angle at times, but like i said some moves should've been in dmc5 when polished could be more moves that we can use, idk maybe dmc6 they'll bring 1 or 2 moves from this

for anyone considering playing this dlc don’t. i actually really like the main campaign in DmC but in this dlc there are two bosses (both are awful), and all missions feel the exact same, unlike the campaign which was super creative. vergil’s moveset is pretty okay tho, but nowhere near as good as that of dante
