1962 - 2017 11 22 Découvert tardivement ce grand baryton 😢 je l'aime et j'écoute tout ce que je peux sur ses performances mais avant tout quel charisme ❤ il a tout pour lui et je comprends l'engouement tout autour de ses apparitions. Respect total... forever

What I think of while watching and listening is how well he speaks English, how generous he is with his responses, and, OMG why did he get a brain tumor and die so soon. He had so many plans for the future of his career, and he has been denied that and so have we, and his family and children as well. Sadness, great sadness! Just so thankful that he recorded so much and that we can listen to him whenever we want through his recordings. He was always generous with his voice and his talent.

It's heartbreaking to rewatch this interview. I love this chap and his voice. He reminds me of everything I adore in Cappuccilli. His voice is so beautiful, so reliable and secure, you can just relax and enjoy his artistry. It's so sad to hear him talking about everything he wanted to do, some of which will never come to fruition, despite his having the most glorious career. Thank you for this interview.

Yes... Also in death. Bastianini for a troat cancer and Dima brain cancer. I am Italian and I saw Bastianini's grave in Siena. My father was a Baritono and He died two tears ago for a a cardio circulation stopped. I am Mezzosoprano and when I sing, I search to honor my surname. I admired Dima and Iove Baritono's voice. ❤️💕♥️🙏

dont know which is the oriental gentleman he without the glasses.he too is a class act,gentle deferential and respectful in the presence of a star yet he guides his questions with gentleness and respect careful as it were not to overstep or seem to be too familiar.does not try to be clever just enjoying what must be one of the perks of his job.i really like his demeanour and deference .he like his subject dmitri is a class act whether his name is dennis or bing i cannot say! he gets my vote here too!

In 2011, I think because he did Ernani at the met that year (Metropolitan Opera House) and in the first part they were talking about his next role which was in ernani and this interview was in New York which is where the Met is

His twins were born in 1996. He says they turn 16 this year, so that would mean 2012. The interview must have been taped very recently.

It says here, 2012, so he only lived 5 more years..... What a loss to the music world. So sad. But hey ! You could do a lot worse than bring music so successfully to so very many people all over the world... Plus be remembered so fondly... 🙂

You're incorrect about the date. The date shown below the video is the date that the video was placed on youtube. It's not the date when the video was originally filmed.

Alexandra, gosto muito de Dima. Encontrei no Google " The Official Facebook fan page of Russian baritono Dmitri Hvorostovsky" . Abri a pagina e fiz a inscricao e la encontrei varios videos, fotos e momentos lindos da vida dele. Se voce ainda nao faz parte dessa pagina, acredito que vai adorar ver partes de sua vida que nao temos acesso. Ele mesmo faz postagens. Bem interessante. Amo esse cantor e ouvi-lo para mim representa uma especie de oracao. Acredito que ele foi um Ser privilegiado por cativar tantas pessoas.

I don't know, something is a bit cringe-worthy or at least uncomfortable about this interview and my feeling is that it is coming from the interviewers. What is it? Anyway, it is nice to see Dima and hear his beautiful voice.

Because the interviewer seem to be strictly Opera/Classical music critics. Not professional journalists. You could hear their disdain about “so we hear you venture to “other” music” or something like that. Still, another precious hour that we get to listen to Hvorostovsky and his opinions

That guy from Mexico 'pushes' waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much. Very uncomfortable to listen to him. Seems as though a shouting match with him.
