And that reason is because Bivol is obviously not a very motivated fighter. Bivol tried to deflect criticism by claiming it was Canelo who didn't want it when his own promoter acknowledged Canelo sent him an offer but he rejected. And Bivol's own manager said that it's better to walk away with a win than risk running it back because Canelo remained dangerous and in boxing you can miss and get knocked out (his words). Canelo probably hit harder than he let on and didn't want to risk Canelo coming in sharper considering he was supposedly dealing with injury. Bivol also rejected the Beterbiev fight back then just to sit on the couch. Beterbiev who's normally a humble guy even called him out numerous times for refusing to get the fight done. Basically, Bivol has been waiting around for Beterbiev to turn 40. I wouldn't be surprised if Bivol retires after the Beterbiev fight win or lose considering he's not all that active as it is.

You would think Canelo would be jumping for Joy to fight Bivol at 168lbs because Bivol would be somewhat draining himself to make that weight but Canelo refused and said he wants to go back up to fight Bivol at 175lbs.
