@@MrTmmyh Exactly. In one video, I think it was fro a seminar, he was correcting some mistakes made by lifter and told him to do it again. And he goes: "Come on, again. Lift it like 'fuck that bar' 'fuck that weight'". It works, you gotta put yourself into that mindset. 👌

Shame he didn't do 232kg as his second lift and then gone for a world record with his third. 232 went up so easily.

I really think klokov could of got at least 236 in this competition, if not equalling or bettering the world record. He made those clean & jerks look ridiculously easy.

+semit wolf damn right, Klokov was telling me at a seminar that they totally prepare mentally and physically for the heaviest lifts. So that's why the first and second lifts look more difficult than they're heaviest lift...if you get me

A snatch specialist for sure but didn't have the big clean&jerk but definitely tried hard. He's put out some extraordinary snatches since retiring much higher than in competition(no longer tested) He's gone into CrossFit more so now with some of the fabulous women lifters such as Olga Zubova.

I think it was too conservative for him. He made 232 look not that difficult. He could have made 235 even... in my opinion.

relative notice here, but why is klokov so highly regarded? doesn't seem like he destroys in competition and performances aren't in the WR range

True, his competition numbers aren't WR range, but his training lifts are legendary. His variation lifts are legendary too. Even in Russia, his regarded as one of the best in WL, in terms of strength, numbers, technique. And finally, his good looks and body is icing on the cake.
