I lay on the roof of my house in the north of Scotland and looked at the stars, listening to this on my cheap record player shortly after it came out. I was 14. I'm 59. It feels just as fresh.

Thirteen minute song. Eight minute intro. Three minute outro. About two minutes of actual singing. And still, deeper than most other songs.

Floyd isn't just music, they are a feeling. Every album is a journey from beginning to end. Each one tells a story. Absolutely brilliant

David Gilmour doesn't need an amp, he just plugs the cord into your soul.

This song is over 40 years old but still sounds futuristic to me whilst maintaining a strong underbelly of nostalgia...

“Whoooo...I ain’t even realized they haven’t sang yet”......... that’s coz the instrumentals sing for them.

You've got to read about the backstory to this song to fully appreciate it. This is an ode to their original band leader who had suffered mental illness. He is the Crazy Diamond. The song is about him.

The more you listen to Pink Floyd the sooner you will realize they have perfected the art of music.

Pink Floyd is one of those rare bands that people will be listening to a hundred years from now.

"I didn't realize they hadn't sang yet" is the best. When the instrumentals are so good, the vocals are gravy.

Imagine how we felt back in the 1970s when there were zero distractions like DVD players computers cell phones video game none of that stuff most of us had TVs with four or five channels at the most and a record player. Then out of the blue this kind of music comes along! I think you'll find Pink Floyd an almost bottomless rabbit hole. And the mechanical noises you heard at the end of that was the music transitioning into the next song "welcome to the machine". Just sit back and enjoy and you don't have to Bob your head to Pink Floyd because if you watch a concert with them you'll see very few people moving, most of the audience is usually mesmerised. Like I said earlier with Pink Floyd just listen and enjoy!

No one can bend a string like Gilmour. If this doesn't move you then you have no soul. So pleased to see this reaction to a band I have listened to for 50 years.

I'm not ashamed to say that I shed a tear from the pure joy of watching this dude discover something he thought he could never experience.. Same when I first experienced Pink Floyd, and I say experience because you can't just listen to their songs, they're an experience above all and nothing ever compares, ever.

Pink Floyd is so good that it is a drug in itself. No drugs, dark room, headphones, eyes closed. Absolutely unforgettable.
