It wasn't "Rakimyo", it was "Riquinho". He used to be an angolan druglord/warlord who'd make shows calling the hottest MC's to perform in Angola, in way of bring people joy and justify where the money was coming from. He had this "kind" way of kidnapping, where the rapper makes the shows pre-established in the contract, but when it's time to go, He doesn't let them go. He'd just put more money in table and try to "convice" the rappers' management team with guns aiming at their head (keep in mind Angola was still at civil war) DMX wanted to leave as soon as possible, so one person of his team manage to escape and went straight to the U.S. Embassy where they resolved that issue.
@CeeMigoLoCo5 ай бұрын
Damn that's crazy 😳 Thanks for explaining that part
@MrDcFh5 ай бұрын
You know, Riquinho wasn’t no drug lord or warlord like they make it seem in those American stories. He was just a guy with ties to the political party, MPLA. He was one of the few putting on these big shows, all funded by MPLA cash. He was kinda new to it all, but he wanted to flex a bit and show his government pals he could bring American stars over to boost their image. And hey, no need to worry, nobody got snatched or hurt. They just scored big, probably the biggest bag ever for an American artist performing in Africa.

This is one of the reasons why it's a good idea to retain your US citizenship even if you move to another country and decide to live there the rest of your life. Corruption is equally rampant and insidious, and our quality of life isn't the greatest because of that but we still are the most powerful nation on the planet with the largest and most advanced military and resources and they will get you out of some serious shit as long as the geopolitics involved aren't too precarious and vital to foreign policy for them to throw their weight around.

A military that is now bribing immigrant criminals with citizenship to serve in the military. Why would we want people serving our country who hate our country? Unless it’s sabotage, which it is. @@Quan1992 From what I gathered from this story it sounded like DMX was supposed to do 3 shows in Africa for this dictator that was supposedly running the shows there. X was supposed to get 30k each day he was there with a free place to stay, etc. X found out the dictator wasn't really in charge of the shows and probably wasn't gonna pay neither because the dictator over heard DMX complaining to his wife over the phone about being there. The dictator must of felt disrespected and tried to keep X there and not let him come back home to the states. Luckily X met a woman that worked for the American embassy and got her phone number while he was on tour in Africa. So when X found out he was being held hostage in Africa, X called the lady that worked for the embassy and she was able to pull some strings and get X out of his hostage situation by having him go to the basement of the building he was in, get into the bulletproof suburban vehicles she had sent to X, and then have him taken to the embassy so he could board a plane specifically made for the embassy employees that would take them to and from Dallas Texas everyday. So X boarded the plane and came back home to the states. I guess it wasn't the first time the African dictator tried to keep Americans/foreigners in Africa and not let them go home.. Sounds pretty damn scary 😳 Did that story break down help out or make sense for you? It was kinda hard for me to understand as well with all the video cuts, but that's what I gathered from it at least.. X is crazy 😄
@Quan19925 ай бұрын
@CeeMigoLoCo Texas is an oil state so the gas companies in Texas have a lot of business in different African countries. And the gas/oil employees who do business in Africa need to get in and out. The only flight from Texas to Africa would have about 2 connections in other countries. There is nothing direct. So when he says gas plane he means a plane ran by the oil/gas companies to get their employees in and out of Africa daily/weekly.
