what’s blowing me is that desmond refuses to be in his daughter’s life, but he also won’t let the step-dad (who’s actually been taking care of her + been her father-figure) adopt her? he’s a sick narcissist and control freak, and the mother/step-dad need to go to court to get desmond’s paternal rights taken away

The relationship between stepdaughter and stepfather is absolutely beautiful. She wants for him the same thing that he wanted for her. To heal, find answers and have peace. 🎉❤ this man gained such a beautiful and loving daughter when he married her mother. And ehat she has given to him is so much more than he could ever had imagined. She gave him pieces to a puzzle that is now completed. He knows who his mother and father is and his siblings and a host of other family. Secomd story: i praise the mother. My heart goes out to the daughter and mother. I pray for their healing and transformation. As far as the father, letting him go is for the best. He will never be the father she needs. He's closed minded. He will never take accountability or accept responsibility for his part in his daughters anger. The best thing the daughter can do is thank him for not being there so that she won't be corrupted and will grow up to be someone special.

Shoutout to James & his daughter for finding his sister 🥳 That was really touching to watch. My advice to Ariel is STAY STRONG QUEEN-SISTER. BE THE BEST MOTHER YOU CAN BE. I can see Desmond selling Ariel a dream but she got pregnant and he got scared and ran off(I been there 2x). Ariel can’t make Desmond be a Father. He has to want to but if he doesn’t Ariel has to step up even more. Nothing should be forced because he will pay later…God will see to that!

This Desmond guy is trying to speak in an 'intellectual' way to try and deflect and distance himself from his responsibility e.g using terms like 'you don't know the path'. What path is he on about? Then he uses the third person 'when a man'.🤬 He's gaslighting. I hope this young girl heals. She's self aware and knows how shes acting out and why, but with support, she will be ok.

Has anyone noticed that the father never says 'I' but 'the man', or 'that man'? He seems to be totally disassociating himself of the situation. He sounds like a narcissist of some type, only caring about himself and his other daughter. I dare not say what he thinks of Kaylee, he simply does not accept her. I hope it is not because of her health problems. However, he's building a very negative karma. And that will backfire at him someday. He is so conceited and smug. He is really going to hit a brick wall some day.

He didn't say it but, he showed very clearly he does not care one bit fir that child. And never did care. All he responds is in third person, "this man did this" this man sleeping at a station"; never says "I went', I slept at the station'. He just threw the very idea of this child out the window. He doesn't love her at all. One day he WILL regret this attitude. I hope Kaylee's family can support her and help her heal completely.

How can a mother leave her child in a grocery store? I cannot even imagine the fear in that child's life and going through foster care. Noone told him that he was loved and showed him love. All you can think is the guilt of what she has done, would have destroyed what she had at that moment, there was great condemnation for people who got pregnant, I mean 59 years ago, I am not making excuses for her, it’s such a horror what she did, and every day of her life she carried that guilt, wondering if ever she would get caught. I noticed they didn’t say how many brothers and sister he had on his mother’s side. It’s a shock to all the family that their mother even did this to a baby.

My son went through the same... He was and still is at times, so angry... Gladly he hot strong enough and cut him of. My son is also a child with a disability, born prematurely. Even I’m tired of “When the man is…” & “When the man is…”. Mothers have no days off. We have to make a way out of no way. There is a step-dad in the home not giving excuses and making a way also. Miss the entire world with the gibberish. Children understand more than people realize. It’s bad when your own child knows you make differences, can smell BS a mile away, and has trust issues in middle school-the age when she is finding her identity.

His story reminds me of my Aunt. 4yrs after my grandfather passed away a woman surfaced as his long lonmst daughter. Her mother gave her up for adoption and never told the father. She looks just like US! But its almost like my mother hates her. Its sad for not reason other then her being born.

This episode hits me as I also grew up with an absent father, I didn’t even knew his name until I was 9 and met him for the first time, after that he was never even present... In the present, he takes me out for dinner every few months, weeks sometimes, but I'm 18 and I'm no longer the little girl who needed her daddy, so for me, he is like just another dude who I see now and then a few times a year
