I’ve enjoyed this entire season thanks to y’all and as a guy living in Boston I don’t have a single soul I know who gives a crap about the Avs (or even hockey in my circle). I guess that’s my way of saying thanks for the parasocial relationship that supports my love for hockey. dump and chase in OT and one goal in each home game reflects what this team lacked all series. an offense that couldn’t generate anything, much less capitalize. the hunger to win was not there or the talent wasn’t as good as we thought.

My biggest issue with the Avs this series was the fact Dallas Didn’t have a break, and at home with the altitude Dallas was the better team. When you would think the Avs would have had the advantage there. Only 1 goal in each of the Avs home games. As for the season not mattering. Obviously the season matters. In my opinion what does not matter come Playoffs is home ice advantage, and how many times you beat said team in the season. Playoffs is a whole different animal.

The first OT was good for the Avs up to the waved off goal, then it was all Dallas. In the second OT we had some chances but the Stars were clearly pushing harder.

It's funny. I thought the Avs were the better team in pretty much the entire 60 minutes of regulation. Even in the second period when they only had 3-4 shots thy had the puck more, were cycling and getting pressure. Then in OT that flipped and I thought Dallas was better and it just felt inevitable at that point. I also thought the goaltender interference call in the first OT was pretty soft, so I guess that was just foreboding. I remember going into the third period thinking they needed to score at least one more. The game just didn't feel like it was going end 1-0. The biggest questions that I think need answers are what is the team doing with Landeskog, Nichuskin and Georgiev. I really hope Landeskog jist comes back at the start of next season, but if not they NEED to make a decision. It's too much money to just be sitting dead on your cap fot a third year in a row. Nichuskin is eligible to return in November-ish and maybe it won't even be up to them, but if he gets reinstated can the Avs afford to run it back with him a third time. The way the organization acted in the wake of his suspension sure makes it seem like they will just move on, but who knows. Georgiev is tricky to me. Outside of game 1, round 1 he was pretty awesome this playoffs, especially in this game. The body of work is there. He has proven he can be great, but after an entire season of mostly below average play it's the consistency that gives me pause. They have Annunen, who they are clearly going to at least use as their backup given the extension he got, but Georgiev's future still seems uncertain even after having an awesome playoff. I have said too much. Great season, glad to have shared it with everyone at DNVR. Dallas was ultimately the better team in this one. It's a damn shame the Avs went 0-3 at home in this series. That was definitely the big difference.

It’s only natural for fans to look immediately towards next season and want to put this season behind them. I dont know what is going on but all season it just looked like the Avs have been playing with no consitancy and no real chemistry. For entire season they were playing against themselves. If Georgie was on the defense would fail him, if the sefense was on Georgie would let softies by, if both the D and Georgie were playing well the offense would look pedestrian. This team just was never able to come together for a full 60 minute game.

Rudo thinks the regular season success is great & the team is fun when the Avs are beating up sub par teams all seasons and accumulating points. But two years of failures clearly illustrates that McFarland got out GM’d and his additions were marginal improvements at best. Opposing game plan- eliminate Mack & Mikko and you win. But let’s celebrate the regular season!!! 😂

Agreed. Regular season wasnt good I dont care what people here are hyped up about. Watched every single damn game. They were inconsistent, gave up a lot of goals due to dumb and boneheaded plays, took many undisciplined penalties. They didnt have pretty much any signature wins. Mainly feasted on weak teams. They were up and down the whole time. The only stretch that I liked was that 9-0 stretch. Gave me hopes but then they followed that up with a really bad stretch to end it. That included losses to all top teams Vegas, Dallas, Vancouver, Jets, Oilers, etc. They also lost games that drove me crazy: Blue Jackets, Montreal, etc. This team wasnt a cup contender no matter what. I never believed in them.

The Avs deserve a big L for loser and lazy. Lazy sloppy play got them knocked out. It's like they weren't interested in playing. Can someone count how many failed zone clears in this game alone? I also go back to Bednar. Can he not rally the troops? The defensive breakdowns were all year long and never got fixed. The team apparently never practices faceoffs. I don't know what Bednar does for the team.

They looked far more exhausted then lazy..I think your far to hard on your team for last night's performance. Now if you wanted to complain about game 4... that'd be different. That was a really bad performance but out side of that they certainly tried. Tough loss. Respect from one fan to another. Goodluck next year. 🍻
@cobrachannel100
@cobrachannel100 14 күн бұрын
@@josephtylerdc9830 exhausted yesterday in OT? I agree. However, he has a point. All what he said was a reflection of this team throughout the reg season except the Jets round. They reverted to the true selves in this round. Faceoffs absolutely terrible. What drove me crazy in this particular game, was the fact that they would ice the puck unnecessarily and u know it is a death sentence given they cant win any faceoffs. That is what caused the goal in OT (that they took away but was a good goal). Basically, icing that was stupid, moved faceoff to the Avs zone and they got scored on. They played a lot of dumb hockey where exhaustion didnt play a role. Besides, wasnt it Avs that had all that rest after they beat Jets and, at the same time, dallas had to play game 7 vs Vegas? Wasnt altitude supposed to be advantage Avs? So I am not buying exhaustion excuse. To me, it was boneheaded, dumb, undisciplined plays. Faceoffs, turnovers, and not showing up for 2 games. Game 2 and 4 they just didnt show up. Some depth would be nice and some more scoring options but I think Mitt has a chance to improve and maybe Walker. So, on paper, looks like they had enough talent. D is weak link though. But the most important is they didnt show up for two games. Also, how can you only score 1 goal in each home game and lose them all? Unacceptable.
@josephtylerdc9830
@josephtylerdc9830 12 күн бұрын
@@cobrachannel100 I see your points but your missing a key point that i stressed to colorado fans when they seemed so very confident they could walk through dallas... Dallas rolls 4 lines Comfortably and they all contribute on the score sheet. That's what colorado lacks... they look great for only parts of every game and that's because they can only over play their top players so much before they run out of gas. Dallas saw why vegas beat them last year and built themselves that way this year adding depth. Those streches when the avs over play their stars thry must produce during those streches or they are just screwed basically. They did one game, game 5 and they won but they didn't other games and they lost. Losing nuke def didn't help but they just need to add a couple more pieces like they did in 22 when they won the cup and they will be back I'm sure. I was definitely wrong about Georgiev though he played excellent. He can def be the guy for them.
