Great lesson! Poppy is our favorite book this year which is why I checked out your video!!!! Making the puppets was our favorite activity. They are still up in our classroom.

Thank you for this glimpse into the program. I've seen Moving Beyond the Page at the homeschool store and couldn't make sense of it even after looking at the website. This was super helpful.

You really helped me out! We've been languishing with a year long literature-based science, but I looked at MBTP's science and I think these shorter unit studies might work well for us.

Thank you for this! I was looking into it for my son who is an advanced reader but hates writing. The preview on the website made it look worksheet-heavy to me, but your video has actually made me want to try it, it sounds like it can be more hands-on than what I expected. Especially if I can just download and only print the activities that he will actually write on.

This was super helpful! Thanks for sharing! I was wondering if you have any thoughts about how Sonlight literature/discussions compare to Moving Beyond the Page?

I’ve never done older levels of sonlight only preschool and PreK so unfortunately I think the discussions are a bit different. I have used older levels of Bookshark and I enjoyed the discussion questions and they were similar to how MBTP has questions.

Do you do all the activities? Does the program expect all of them to be done or do they say choose which ones you want to do? How long does a lesson typically take?

I would say we do about 90% of the activities. In this age level with reading the chapters and all activies probably about 45 mins- 20 mins of reading and 25 of activities
