What do you think for curriculum for a 4 years old ?
@gatheredandgroundedhomeschool
@gatheredandgroundedhomeschool 2 күн бұрын
There are about 20 beginner pages that are just simple starting lines….it would mostly depend on your child’s hand strength and pencil grip. If they can write and hold a pencil you shouldn’t have any issues, if they are still working on that then you will want to just keep to building those writing muscles with play dough

You had to create a username and password for your son, who's learning how to write? How old is someone typically before he can understand how to invent a good password?

So is everything you need to know to explain concepts in language arts in the same year or may it draw from units in the past years? I am worried I chose the wrong level for my daughter for this reason. I don't want to be pulling from other resources I want to use it as our only language arts. Is this not possible starting at 7-9? Would it be going back to 6-8?
@gatheredandgroundedhomeschool
@gatheredandgroundedhomeschool 2 күн бұрын
Every level does build on eachother but most concepts are retaught year after year. If you take the placement tests it should help with deciding which level to start with ❤️

D’Nealian is my absolute favorite. It leads to simple cursive instead of frilly and complicated. It’s what we used to use in my old school district when I was teaching.

I didn’t know they have an online component now. Thats so cool! We have used this program since it was the old company, Scott Foresman. Savvas took it over a couple years ago and it’s a lot cuter now. ❤

Awesome I need to try those scissors they say they work for lefty’s too! Agree with crayola & Elmer’s & dry erase markers! Girl, Ticonderoga is my all time favorite I love the different colors they come in too especially for me the teacher! 😂 I only use Ticonderoga! I will have to try your sharpie suggestion but I still prefer pens with lids bc I’m always nervous they will leak in my purse or something so I usually stick with felt tips name brand! Costco has them on sale right now! But that Amazon price for my kids is unbeatable (I never want to share mine 😂)

For younger ages yes I would get them each their own pack. My son (5) has his own pack and tray all his stuff goes in. My older two do share out of our school bins for the most part but there are multiple packs of supplies so no one is fighting over the same color 😂

Glad you had a good first week! We started a 5 day school week for this first term. I figured as we are in the throws of teaching our kindergartener to read we should expose her to it as many days as possible until she gets a handle on it. You’re absolutely right you can finish school in a 3 day school week! Our second and third term will likely be 3 days. Happy homeschooling!
