Do Floats Pods really make a difference?

"Float Pods" Installed on a 1648 Tracker Grizzly. I've always wondered how much difference these make? Ill have a follow up video after they are painted and water tested. I've seen some stupid YT videos of guys attaching pods with 5200 and rivets, etc... but there is really only one way to attach them WELDING! If you are gonna do it, then do it right the 1st time. You'll thank me later!

Drawing up some pods for my tunnel hull jet boat, planning to cut parts on the waterjet tomorrow and weld on later this week. I like your weld procedure with the flat bar. I'm definitely going to use that on mine

What are the dimensions of the pods? Curious if I can fit them on my 1648 with enough room for the motor to turn.

What are they for ? never seen this before.

They add buoyancy to the back of the boat. It basically brings the back end up so it sits higher in the water. It drafts less water, and allows you to run the shallows. Mainly used on duck boats. You see a lot of them in the Florida keys, flats, and marshes.

I'm not sure the brand but i'm not in love with it. The round dial spins vertical on the torch. I prefer Around nob that spins left and right. Unfortunately I have the same one on my welder at home. Miller said it was the only option?

Nice job adding the pods. Are they foamed or are they empty? I am curious to know the before and after buoyancy results....I would love to have some but last guy really screwed the pooch on my installation and I had to have the transom redone due to all the leaking and hole burned clear through......

Foam does not add buoyancy , it makes ur shit float if it sinks😂

What do you charge for welding pods onto a boat? Seriously. I have a 1754 SC tracker grizzly that I use for ducks and summer fishing. It would be ideal to be able to get skinnier in the water. Is this a bad idea for me or is it viable? I live in Richmond, but am currently overseas. Most likely a spring time idea. Pods would be provided to you and most likely would be beavertail since they are readily available.

It doesn't look like these add much buoyancy. How much do they decrease draft running and still and how is performance enhanced?

@@TRICKEDTINShow was the water test? I’m about to do same on my 1648. Was curious if you took into account the 1/2 tilt they want for flat bottom from end of transom to end of pod. Obviously these are semi v
