Hi Mr. Smith! Great to see your doing well and congrats on your success with the videos. Test panel is so important, i thought to skip it on my 3 stage paint job and paid the price with a blotchy result. Testing the coatings on a panel (especially when using a flake) is a step not to skip. See my RX7 in rose gold over white on my channel to see what no test panel can result in!

I have done the wrinkle effect a couple ways one spray black base the let it set up for a good hr or so then use silver and put plastic on right away then pull off , or spray my black then ball up plastic and spray silver on it then dab onto the black.. never used the hok stuff most times balling on a budget lol...

@@CarAddictGarage it's what it's all about right .. helping folks out on youtube.. wish it had been around long time ago like back in the early 90's when I started doing body and paint work. even took a airbrushing class for a few weeks but it got to be my only class and took like an hr drive so I quit going... like a fool... if only youtube was around back then.. but folks didn't want to give up the goods when it came to airbrushing back then like they do today .. keep up the great vids

i have also seen artists do marble effect with a feather as a brush on walls etc, that produces a true marble effect like stone, probably not quite the direction custom car marbalizing goes in but good to watch.

one of the benifits of the modern waterbourne paint schemes is you can use that for a long open time effect base, i've done many wood grain and marble with waterbourne, you can do a good burl effect as it can be blown with air brush to move the paint around. Something you might find interesting is the difference between European grit grades and USA grit grade, your 400/600 is around our 800 so when US tubers are saying use a grit the differance across the pond needs to be remembered

@@CarAddictGarage the make i use is debeer / octoral, we changed to this and loved it for the work we did as the matches we good ect, we tried a few along the way and didn't like them, particularly to note the debeer / octoral does not have any activator in the water base coat so it can have a very long shelf life after mixing, we found sherwin williams water bourne to have an activator in the base which ment it was useless after a few hours in the pot. that being said sherwin williams air bake clear and primers were the dogs bollocks (very good).ive used those for bar tops and counter tops as well, hold up very well. we had a contract for london taxis so we were painting alot of the same colours so the long pot life was a real bonus.
