Hi Dr chung i had botox injection in June as i had done and tried everything to get rid of my fissure . The injection has helped me upto 30% and i have stopped bleeding which is god send as i was in terruble pain i am going to have another botox injection on 22nd October i hope this improve my symptoms further . The botox injection does have side affects you cannot hold your gas or poo but this lasts only for 7_ 10 days and also you have swelling and some pain plus bleeding on the first day. I still got no choice but to go ahead with this 2nd dose as i am hoping i will feel cos i am miserable

Thanks dr Chung for making such informative videos. I have been suffering from anal fissure for 5 months. I have been on medication thats sitcom and Himalaya pilex (both are herbal in nature) and laxatives to keep stools even softer than the normal poop. I have got bit relief from pain and don't need painkillers anymore. Hope this way i get recovered. Btw Doctors have asked me to go to LIS surgery and upon asking botox therapy they say it may not work in chronic fissure case.But after watching your video i may reconsider for botox therapy in case its needed.

I noticed what appeared to be a fissure last October. Some months it appeared to have gone away but it tore I believe a few days ago & this time I feel it! It feels like a tore all the way through the anus down to the base of the rectum. I wouldn’t call it super painful but i didn’t sleep the first night. Pain seems to radiate, feels like a bruised tailbone. It’s tight af, my hips and even my lower back are all tense. Old blood happened once. I’ve been off the past 4 days and I’m taking off another 4.

I think it just takes time being chronic for so long and being a sensitive area and believe I will heal 💯%

Thank you so much for your videos. They are extremely helpful but I wish you would talk more about those of us who enjoy anal sex. Anal tears in the gay community have a different patho-physiology and should be approached and treated completely differently. After a lot of research and after a colorectal surgeon suggested LIS to me not understanding that this is a sexual organ and one that is important to me, I believe Botox and dilation are the key to healing an anal tear, which I've struggled with for over six years now. I am very sad that no one seems to address our community and think everyone just uses their asses to poop and that's it. Can you please make a video that addresses the gay community and anal sex? What do you believe are the best treatment options for an anal tear for someone like me who enjoys anal sex? It's 2024 and this should not be taboo anymore. It's not just me, either. There are a lot of people who enjoy anal sex and cutting our internal anal walls is not the answer long term, wouldn't you agree? Please help! I love your videos but can you please make a video where you talk about treatment for anal tears for people who have anal sex? Thank you.

One MAJOR error! DOs ARE board certified and EQUAL to MDs. DOs and MDs are the only two FULL MEDICAL PROVIDERS in the US. DOs have EQUAL medical privileges, including full prescribing privileges, hospital privileges, surgical privileges, and ALL privileges as MDs. MDs and DOs don't even have separate residencies and board certifications any longer. You are VERY misinformed to say DOs are not board certified. Maybe you don't know any DO proctologists because in the PAST there were no DO proctology residencies - BUT there were STILL DOs who went through an MD residency for what used to be called proctology. NOW, ALL residencies are done TOGETHER - DOs and MDs. There aren't even separate residencies anymore. In fact MDs are doing Osteopathic Manipulation residencies. That was an incredible surprise to hear you say that.
@yourfriendlyproctologist
@yourfriendlyproctologist Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. Board certification is accomplished after a physician completes a ACGME and ASCRS approved Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship and passing rigorous board certification exams. Want to know if your "proctologist" is board certified? Try looking up your provider on www.fascrs.org. There isn't a single DO provider listed. Be very careful out there. There are many imposters and marketing is very deceptive.

@@yourfriendlyproctologist Actually times have changed. This is very important for you to understand if you are looking to reach people on the internet. It is a very biased and inaccurate statement to say DOs are not board certified or "less" of doctors than an MD. There is nothing farther from the truth and you are actually doing a disservice to your own medical field to speak such untruth and prejudice. Straight form the ACGME website: DOs and MDs do the same residency and fellowships now: A single GME accreditation system is being implemented to allow graduates of allopathic (Doctors of Medicine or MDs) and osteopathic (Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine or DOs) medical schools to complete their residency and/or fellowship education in ACGME-accredited programs, and demonstrate achievement of common Milestones and competencies." www.acgme.org/about/overview/

In addition - Below is a link to a video by an MD who is well informed about the similarities and differences between MDs and DOs. It would be a good video for you to watch so that you can hopefully remove your prejudice of DOs. As you will see, MDs and DOs are not snake oil people claiming to be doctors. Your DO colleague is equal to you. If it IS true that there are no fellowship trained colorectal DO surgeons (which I will ask the ABCRS if this is true - and WHY this is true if it is...) it ALSO has to do with the DIFFERENCES between DOs and MDs. NOT that they are inferior to you and not board certified or allowed into MD residencies or fellowships (because this is where you are mistaken - they indeed are) - but because if there are only 70 board certified colorectal surgeons in the US right now, who have gone thru that particular fellowship, and 75% of all medical school graduates are MDs and only 25% are DOs, it's going to be a RARE occurrence to find a DO who actually WANTS to be a proctologist. It is important that you not throw DOs under the bus. You may find yourself being treated by an ER doctor, or a neurosurgeon one day - and that doctor is a DO! And I assure you many of your followers go to a DO for their heart, lungs, surgical needs, dermatology, neurological conditions (etc.) as well as primary care. Saying DOs are inferior to MDs is like saying an Asian American is inferior to an American. Pretty ridiculous right? Times change - for the better! Enjoy this video from an MD who clearly gives an unbiased and comprehensive approach to the similarities and differences of DOs and MDs. Please watch the entire video since you seem to really care about informing your followers with the most accurate information. You may also want to check with your own board certification of the truth - because I doubt, they would be comfortable with you throwing DOs under the bus. But at minimum - here is a video that may help you see the truth of your DO colleague and understand your DO colleague. You will discover something valuable to yourself and followers. Enjoy the education! The comments may enlighten you as well. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/atF8hM6FzNWWoGQ.html

@@user-cv2ez1hg1s Thanks for commenting again. Your point is well taken, but you have misunderstood the context of my message. My recommendation is simple: find a board certified Colon and Rectal Surgeon, look up his/her credentials and make sure you do your research. If you want to see a DO, that is your choice. However, understand that your DO is not a board certified Colon and Rectal Surgeon.
