Ever wondered how different sauna temperatures impact your health? In this video, I explore the effects of sauna temperature on cardiovascular response, utilizing both traditional and infrared saunas.
Specifically, I conducted a series of tests comparing three types of saunas: a full-spectrum infrared sauna, a traditional dry sauna, and a traditional wet sauna. By monitoring variables such as heart rate, respiratory rate and blood glucose levels, I was able to do a comprehensive analysis of how each type of sauna affects the body.
Understanding the specific health impacts of different sauna temperatures can help you choose the right type of sauna for your health goals. This video provides essential insights that could alter how you approach sauna use, potentially enhancing your well-being.

Very interesting results. Obviously not a true hardcore study but nonetheless worth while for providing a big picture comparison. Thank you for doing this!

Thanks for your hard work. I always wondered why their are no facilities to try all the relaxing technologies we have today. Besides steam room, dry sauna, aroma therapy, cold plunge, juccuzzi, massage, chroma therapy, Acupuncture, detoxing skin peels, laser skin grafting ( the facial- not the reconstruction aspect), sound deadening water therapy, with a full body workout!!! Easy four hour session with a great meal!!!! Great job!!!!

Great test! I would like to see the results of a steam bath, i.e., not a hot dry sauna that you add water to but a room heated by steam alone. That is what I use and the air temp only gets to about 115 F but at high humidity the heat index is in the 200 F range.

I tested SaunaBox which is a steam room and it caused a comparable heat stress to the saunas I tested in the video. See kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jpyKmdSJytGdkpc.html

Thoughts about EMFs from infrared?
@MichaelKummer
@MichaelKummer 13 күн бұрын
The amount of EMFs emitted by a high-quality IR sauna are benign compared to the benefits you’re getting imho.

Interesting indeed. However I wonder if the stress produced by the different types of energy on the body translate to the same health effects/benefits. This certainly does not account for any negative effects that may be affecting the body due to the infrared radiation. Some of which may actually negate some if not all of the benefits that a traditional sauna offers. I personally will stick with the old fashioned dry and steam saunas. Thank you! … Blessings

What negative effects of IR radiation?
@drehoward9670
@drehoward9670 13 күн бұрын
@@MichaelKummer Infrared is electromagnetic radiation. I understand that it is currently "deemed safe", much like what they say about microwaves, WiFi and a host of other of todays "conveniences". Infrared wavelengths are 'shorter than that of a microwave', but again, no one has ever studied the 'long term' effects on the human body. I highly highly recommend everyone to read "The Invisible Rainbow" to get an understanding of the (possible) effects of radiation in all forms on our bodies and our health. There is a reason that many if not all of our 'modern diseases' were not around about 100 years ago. Even in your experiment, you showed that the infrared sauna caused a much elevated heart rate, even though the temperature was much lower than that of the traditional sauna. So it is obvious that there are effects on the body that go beyond that of the ones triggered by the increase in temperature. The 'waves' heat the body from within. I for one am not comfortable with that notion. As stated, I much prefer the traditional approaches. ... Blessings

Hi, can I add a harvia heater to a sunlighen mpulse or other sunlighen, to make a hybrid sauna?
@MichaelKummer
@MichaelKummer Ай бұрын
I doubt that's a good idea because the electronics inside the mPulse are probably not rated for the temperatures (or humidity) the heater would produce.

@@MichaelKummer thanks, I would have thought so. Another channel was saying you could do that, but I thought I would ask you because your content is more scientificely based.

Please tell me what is the name of this type of board/timber from which the walls of the barrel bath are made? I mean, does this board/timber have any special name in English?
@MichaelKummer
@MichaelKummer Ай бұрын
It's called thermowood. Thermowood is created by heat treating Scandinavian softwood to temperatures ranging from 180 - 230° in special chamber kilns for up to 96 hours. Steam is used as a protective gas and helps to prevent the wood from splitting and becoming damaged during treatment.

@@MichaelKummer Thank you, but I probably didn’t express myself correctly (English is not my native language). What is the name of the board or beam, exactly this semicircular shape on the profile (cut of the board)? Profiled timber for a sauna? Crescent beam? Sorry, I still can’t find how to write in Google search to find this lumber :)

Are saunas not supposed to reduce blood sugar levels?
