How do these battery powered generators hold up in a non air-conditioned garage in the Texas (Houston area) heat? It's a newer build attached garage, so it's not sweltering like a detached uninsulated garage, but it does get fairly hot. I like this option better than gas powered (no noise, no exhaust, future expandability), but since my main panel is on the exterior wall of my garage, it only makes sense to keep everything in the garage. Thanks for all the content. Very informative!

I live in Southern California and it’s around 95-105 every day. Inside my garage. Garage door shuts. It’s not as hot as outside and this runs fine and dandy. I would not open the garage and let direct sun hit this. After awhile of that I imagine it would shut down. But it sits in my garage and works 24 hours a day.

The Max VOC on the panel isn't the max voltage possible, it's the max at standard test conditions (25C / 77F). In colder temps the VOC will be higher. Hopefully the power station will just error out, because a cold spell could fry one that's being run close to the VOC limit based only on the sticker.

How long does it take to charge a Anker f3800 with the 400 watt panel that comes with that unit? And how low would it take to charge if a person has 2 400 watt Anker panels Thank you

So people know. I run mine out of the smart panel. And it’s awesome. However, the maximum output I get even when fully charged, is around 1.8kwh’s. Mine never goes past 1.8kwh’s in output while using the smart home panel.

Split phase power comparison please. This one splits the difference between paralleled units (Pecron E3600LFP, Dabbsson DBS3500) that also cannot provide split phase output when connected to the grid (important callout here), and single-unit split phase power stations like Ecoflow Delta Pro 3, Delta Pro Ultra.

This Anker has some seriously compromised inputs. 1200W / 25A = 48V. Good luck finding panels with a Vmp over 48V and a Voc under 60V!!! Nearly impossible to max out these solar inputs!

low max voltage is the problem of these generators like ecoflow and anker . If you don't need portable its better and cheaper to get eg4 6000 xp

first of all you haven't seen anyone covering this because not many can afford such a solor generator. expensive.specially for the people who rent . not obvious to spend big $$$$. personnaly i look for a solar gen that can make my fridge an d freezers work when out of power.

*Ben, you have succeeded in producing the most nebulous, convoluted, and confusing video on Photovoltaic application I think I have ever seen ! What ? I have to do what again to get the maximum PV input Wattage ? I'm not going to dance to this manufacturer's tune ! I don't want any solution which is this complicated to use. For one thing, the funky-assed MPPT's the power station manufacturers are choosing to install in their power stations need to be far more solar panel input tolerant than the extremely narrow characteristics they're using today ! It would be more practical if the MPPT in question had a broader input Voltage and Amperage tolerance, so the end user had more connection options and choices of solar panel designs they can use. More importantly, the simpler the solar panel connection options would be. What you like to quote - "Volts times Amps equals Watts," is not what we need to know when it comes to essential home backup. The more important equation is WATTTS DIVIDED BY VOLTS EQUALS AMPS. So let's see here shall we ? This Anker Solex F3800 outputs a rated 6000 WATTS @ 240 AMPS, therefore, 6,000 Divided by 240 Volts AC =25 Amps of current to run your entire household in an off grid, or emergency power outage situation. (6000/240=25) This is not bad, but it's not good either ! 25 Amps of current to run just critical loads only is not really enough ! I understand one does not turn on every light or run every appliance all at the same time when in a power out backup situation, but even so, homes running essential loads such as a well pump, Air-Conditioner, or hot water heater, furnace, freezer and refrigerator could easily exceed 25 Amps of current. Also, being able to run a house in backup mode for only 3 hours isn't very practical is it ? In fact, it's rather useless don't you think ?*

You missed the whole point of his vid. He's not suggesting you buy one, he's giving ideas on how to make best use of the limited input range on a unit some of us already have. Mine works very well as a limited back up system and keeps me from having to listen to a generator for 24 hours.
@markjob6354
@markjob6354 24 күн бұрын
@@rickdougherty1371 Actually, this was one of my points. I think there's an issue with the power stations employing large capacity and great expandability, but employing very narrowly parameterized MPPT solar charge controllers. One might have thought it was in the best interest of the manufacturers to make it easy for end users to connect as many and as broad a range of solar panels as possible ? Perhaps this is deliberate to limit choice ? One does have to wonder about why this is, because it's overly complicated, and it shouldn't be ?

The main point here, in my opinion, is how limited the solar inputs are on some of these battery systems. It really takes an application of electrical theory combined with the right panels to get it right. It’s not easy for the consumer to figure out.
