This is a do-it-yourself, inexpensive shelf/mantel that is made from pine and a few pieces of strip steel. This cost me about $30 at most to make and looks great in the house. If you have access to a few simple tools anyone can make this. The brackets don’t have to be welded if the bolt is screwed in. So don’t think you can’t make it without a welding machine.
