Patrick Roy found the Cup on the bottom of his pool the morning after a party. Messier took the Cup to the most expensive strip club in NYC and paid for the Cups first lap-dance. 3 cup winning players have had their kids baptized in the bowl of the Stanley Cup.

Note - that's not the full cup. The oldest of the larger rings is removed when the cup becomes too long. I think there are at least two additional rings that have been removed (might just be one?!).

I know the cup no longer ventures to Russia but I wonder if anything crazy happened while it was there prior to 2022. The video of the Red Wings players in 97 was very cool.

Guy Carbonneau from Dallas Stars was partying with Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Darrell from Pantera when he tried to toss it into the pool from a balcony but missed and dented it. I'm pretty sure that was the incident that led to this guy getting hired.

The party at Mario's house back in the 90s, where I think it was Kevin Stevens, that was in the pool and tried to throw the cup to someone, but missed and it hit the edge of the pool and got damaged. That had to be up there with the craziest parties. That team had some party animals on it.

Mario's party didn't dent the cup. That was the party that the NHL realized that chlorine was bad for silver, so limited swimming pool activity rules applied. The physical damage story was Guy Carboneau of the Dallas Stars missing the pool when trying to throw it from the roof of his house during a party. The NHL decided to hire a full-time baby-sitter after that one.
