I struggled for a while getting my S+ until I decided to use my own save setup, I found most the guides save spots are decent, but saving at the points where I struggle most and skipping saving where I had no difficulties made a huge difference in both my ability to get an S+ and enjoyment in the game.

I'm taking all my time with my NG+ weapons in pro mode and upgrading them even further. Not concerned about S+ at all.

I actually got S+ Pro before I got it for any other difficulty (I finished getting S+ on all difficulties yesterdays). I think the advice here is great about playing "smarter, not faster," though I absolutely used a few speedrunning tricks (the door glitch to skip Chapter 14 as a prime example). But I also ended up using the paid tickets to help me out with the infinite upgrades to the sweeper, primal knife, and handcannon (which I later realized was a bit of a letdown; the handcannon in the remake SUCKS). That brings me to my big point/qualifier: I feel that many people posting this advice are unintentionally directing it towards above average players and/or underestimating themselves; I don't doubt the sincerity of those posting these guides, but when I see someone say "you don't need bonus weapons" or "don't get the paid tickets, they're not necessary," I find myself thinking "Yeah, sure... for you maybe." With every trick I learned, enormous luck getting the Striker Charm in return for a 2 minute deviation to the shooting range, and the ticket, I barely scraped by with around 10-15 minutes to spare. I like to think I'm "decent, but not great," but I realize that I might be better than I give myself credit for. And some might say "Well, if you're not good enough, you shouldn't be doing this," but that's the kind of toxic gatekeeping that gives the gaming community a bad rep, and just because we're bad at the game doesn't mean we don't want to do all we can, whether because we're completionists or just love the game (I've completed at least 15 playthroughs in 3 weeks and am now doing another one). And I love the cat ears for letting me get to play with the CQBR (barring ammo restrictions, it's probably second only to the infinite launcher in terms of how powerful it is, surpassing even the Chicago Sweeper). Again, I'm not doubting the sincerity of your advice; I actually think it's some of the BEST advice I've seen put out for people. Honestly, a lot of this is addressed at the "you don't need bonus weapons" comment and I'm probably venting a little at the (I'm sure unintentional) undertone of "don't try this unless you're really good" that crops up in all these Professional difficulty advice videos. Sorry for all that. I really think this advice is great, and I appreciate you and all the other content creators putting the advice out there to help others with this monstrous challenge. Take care.

6:35 Also you couldve used those 2 heavy grenades for the anti-aircraft gun later and heavy grenades are a fantastic item to get during a speedrun cause it helps eliminate the 2 garadors, the ashley wall section and the anti-aircraft but they are hard to craft and find during a speedrun, so use them wiseley

I wish they made the rankings based on score that is calculated on a combination of time spent, enemies killed, items and treasure collected, etc.

I used the infinite handcannon from Mercenaries to get the S+. The village was a grind but once that sucker was infinite it was smooth sailing. Allowed me to save enough cash to one shot Saddler with a rocket launcher. I've already beat it the legit way. I just want the bonus items to mess around with the game engine. It's pretty damn fun.

Im actually playing no merchant run on professional difficulty.....pure tragedy

The problem with Speedrun strats is most of the time it's exploiting glitches or just running past things and then you get stuck on areas you HAVE to engage enemies with and then get stuck there for over an hour bc you have little to no resources and no money to upgrade your weapons

Oh i gonna try to get at least a A playtrough without bonus weapons. But when i try to get the s+, i Will use every Skip possible that this game has to offer.

Basically, when you can avoid enemies, do it. The enemies aren't fun to fight, so just run past them. That Village fight - either throw a grenade at a bunch of enemies to make the timer go down, or keep running around the village until the timer expires. Collect treasures when you can to upgrade weapons, so you can melt bosses. The Bolt Action Rifle is the boss killer of choice as is the Broken Butterfly. Get the firepower maxed out on them as soon as possible. The pistol and shotgun are there just to stun enemies in your path - not to kill them. If they get in your face, use those guns to stun them, so you can run past. This is a fundamental problem I have with this game - unlike the original where the enemies were fairly fun to fight, this game's Pro mode makes them all tanky as hell where your bullets might as well be spit balls. You're better off not bothering with them.

Here’s an interesting take to make something easier and save Ammo. Chapter 2, when all the enemies are attacking in the valley, from the spot where you jump down, if you jump in the window of the nearest building(where the yellow herb is) all enemies have to jump in through there and can be easily repelled with a couple stabs of the knife or shots of the handgun, and the enemies who throw Dynamite will do the heavy lifting of turning them into bloody pulp

Perfect timing I needed this stressed myself tryna speed run the village part most stress and rage inducing I resorted to hand cannon

I swear my first playthrough in the village dude said "hey asshole" ducked and the lady behind him threw an axe at me I couldn't even be mad I wish I would've recorded it 😂

What I did was take my time, went to Hardcore mode to unlock Armored Ashley, then complete professional to get the Gas Mask, then the Chicken Hat, then finally the Cat ears. Sadly I know everyone doesn't have thay kind of time, glad you did the video for it

Got my S+ Pro glitchless with some smarter routing and decision making on my part after failing to do so for a week. It's definitely challenging but achievable if you play it smart !

That initial grenade throw is such a bch lmao I remember I got the knife kill rng down then staggered the one gonado by the window and grabbed the name. Opened the door and lined up a perfect throw and the name softly bounced off Isabella face right at my feet. I was just like "gtfoh"

The hardest thing I played in resident evil series was invisible difficulty in Revelations 2. Apart from that, these are not so tough, but challenging indeed which makes it an amazing game for me.

I just got S+ last night. You can use the golden upgrade tickets you buy in the shop, if you are stuck. I went ahead and made my hand cannon and Chicago sweeper unlimited ammo and maxed them. Also the unbreakable knife.

I finally got the cat ears last night and.... it bothers me when I wear the cat ears. Anyways, I don't think I could've achieved it without Ashley's armor, the infinite submachine gun or handcannon (via Mercenaries), and definitely without the clipping through wall skips of Mendes and Ch. 14. I mean, I probably could but it would take me more playthroughs. I got this on my 3rd playthrough and that's enough for me. Edit: so people who just want the cat ears and don't care how you get it, take advantage of the skip bugs before Capcom patches it!

It wasn't ammo that was the problem with my s plus professional run because I upgraded the sweeper it was constantly running out of healing items I may try again at some point great video though very helpful

I just did an s run on hardcore to unlock ashley armor(I also destroyed all clockworks for primal knife). I will now use the primal knife and ashley armor in professional difficulty.

Pro S+ run is so easy now. Get Handcanon from mercenaries, shill out $2 for an exclusive ticket, have HC by chapter 2, Rekt everything. I was able to get pro s+ run in just under 4hrs on my second play through ever of this game. I’m a noob with doodoo butter aim so if I can do it, anyone can.

Don’t sleep on the Matilda, you can make that thing almost full auto by just quick tapping that trigger!!

After getting s+ rank on professional, I equip cat ears and won't let any enemy escape. I deserve it.

Here's a tip for the breaking the wall: in the beginning there is a dynamite enemy next to the red container. Just stand at the hole in the wall and wait for him to throw dynamite at you. It works the same way as grenades.

This game is easy if you understand spanish as most of the villagers when they flank you will say which direction they are in if you listen carefully, saved myself many times from a random villager that snuck up on me

TBH I found S+ pretty straight forward. Doing mercenaries to get the handcanon, 1 shot everyone after the first typewriter in main game and focus on levelling that. Just got cat ears sub 4 hours.

Best way to do Pro Villiage fight in NG is make sure Chicago Sweeper and Handcannon are unlocked first via Mercenaries S ranks and pro A rank with inf launcher. On Villiage part Grab a grenade or two Via the near by houses and Go in the Main house, Trigger chainsaw guy, grab Shotgun and grenade and ammo and jump through window by stairs, Wait for Chainsaw guy and Make sure to kill him here! Using 5 Handcannon rounds and some shotgun shots will kill chainsaw guy and you also got 50 rounds from Chicago for extra umph, tho I recommend trying your best to save Like 4-5 shotgun rounds and 25 Chicago rounds to burst fire for next part!. After chainsaw guy is dead jump down then go up ladder in tower STAY IN FRONT OF LADDER and gun climbing Ganados down with w.e guns left. Throw grenades down at bottom to as a bunch of enemies will be gathered down there in a small area so you'll snag alot of kills easy, I've done this strat like 10 times testing it and it worked 9/10 times with hardly no issues, just remember as soon as ya climb the ladder turn around and stay right in front of it don't walk to the side of it and you'll be fine :) the one time I failed was Not killing chainsaw guy first before ladder climb as He's super tanky and will Likely climb fully up ladder even with Handcannon rounds to head And thus screwing you!

On my playthroughs, I first went for the Primal Knife (16 Clockwork Castellans) and then for Ashley's Armor (Hardcore mode on A rank) and the Chicago Sweeper (Professional A rank). After that, the game was to get S+ on Hardcore with the Chicago Sweeper, and to get 30 spinels with the Merchant quests to make the Chicage Sweeper have infinite ammo. That run gave the Chicken Hat (Hardcore S+). Then I did the Professional S+ with the Chicken Hat and repeated the Chicago Sweeper stategy with 30 spinels and less than 15 saves. It did work in the end but the Village fight on Professional was a pain!

I’ve unlocked the Chicago sweeper so I could use it later upgrade it to infinite ammunition but I’m having difficulties finding enough money to upgrade it, even sell my other weapons won’t be enough so I’m gonna wait with selling stuff till I have everything I need.

Nah, just watch speedrun videos and play it safe. No secret in that.

Easy to skip the village. Grab a bomb, go up the stair, don't move. Keep shooting the heads. After chainsaw arrive, drop the bomb and jump of the stair, loot as fast as you can, then run to shot gun house. Grab hand ammo, health, shotgun, bomb and shotgun shell. Jump out and go back to the stair and repeat. When the chainsaw appear, there be lots of villagers coming out, do head-shot. When you feel like you almost out of bullet, drop the bomb, it will kills everyone in the house and you're done.

Best strat is the 2 green grenade on groups strat. 1 on the first floor where you get the green grenade toss 1 in the living room. and the 2nd hop out the window upstairs, took 1 grenade by the ladder. Any stragglers 2-4 shotgun rounds ends it. Mendez skip, glitch lol

The only sections I had the most trouble with in RE4 is the dam Salazar boss and the room with the two blind guys with the blades and the guys that keep spawning ugh that was hell.

I finally beat pro s+ in 4hours and 30 minutes, it took me like 3 entire days to beat it. Ahh i'm so glad i did it.

That's why I say what u do between chapters 1-4 especially 4!!!! Will determine the rest of ur run on pro mode.. Thank God for the Red 9 and gas mask...truly a life saver.. After fully upgraded or close to it .. it's Slaps the like pocket shotgun.. nowhere near like the O.G. at a whooping 6.5 DPM.. but I'll take what I can get..

Got the S+ rank on Hardcore and the first 6 chapters of the game are an absolute nightmare before you can get infinite Typewriter or Handcannon. I can't even imagine how bad Professional would be when you only get 15 saves.

I'll just always find it weird that the completion time is what they decided to base the score off of rather than something survival related in a survival horror game. I figured it would be things like hits taken and deaths .

Done with the S+ Pro Run. It’s up in my channel and you can see my rage and frustration during the run. I only recommend doing it if you know the game quite well and have everything that you need.

I got s+ in professional last night not using any glitches. Finished at 5 hours 7 minutes 15 saves Depending what your goal is you need to speed run in some areas.. because if you are to get through it in NG pro you need to get to castle atleast by 1 hour 30 minutes, by island around 3 hours 30 ish. In order to make it before 5 and a half hours to get s+ and unlock cat ears. But of course not until you get the items to help make it easier, ashly armor, gas mask, chicken helm etc.

Someone tested shooting the bell with the starting pistol on a new game and it does indeed work but it’s not easy

You can't run out of ammo in any part of the game you're teaming up with Luis, he'll just throw you Handgun Ammo infinitely whenever you don't have any.

After having finished the professional mode, without armor on Ashley or the use of special weapons, I clearly understood that it is not worth doing a speedrun as it is harmful to my mental state. It reminds me of other games where you have Easy/Normal/Hard mode and then chaotic (but stupid) mode. But really stupid where the term Difficult is enhancing not only difficulty but also how random it is.

I beat the game on my 3rd playthrough in 8hrs on new game plus mode. Under the professional mode and still didn’t get rank A. Instead got a B ranking guessing my 219 saves, from my previous run making it impossible.

After getting my S+ on Pro with the Chicago Sweeper ( with inf. ammo), I refuse to attempt more S+ playthrough on Pro. It's not the difficulty or the requirement of 15 saves that frustrate me, it's Ashley's AI. Her AI can easily mess up any section in the game and I don't want my time to be wasted because of messy AI. Now I only go for S rank on Pro and that makes me happy.

Already Platinumed the game last week. 👍🏽

u can skip the entire underground section with the first iron maiden and ashley holding the bridge etc. by glitching trough the door next to the wrecking ball. You know the door where u could go back and kill this special iron maiden enemy.. One of the easiest skips.. Also u can get the chicao sweeper pretty easy with infinite ammo.. after that everything else is a piece of cake
