Do Not Throw Away your Dead Toyota Power Window Motor rated 12v 10 Amps DC Motor.
This video is about not throwing away your old car power window motor even if it is dead. It is about salvaging it, repairing it and reusing it as a normal high speed 12 volts permanent magnet DC motor.
The worm gear inside this motor is usually made out of plastic so I am going to remove the entire gear box plus the gear and use it just as a simple motor.

That's good info. I have one sitting in my closet and I play with motor generators a lot..A high torque, low RPM motor seems best to me to be used as a generator.. A lot of people use step motors which return high voltage but can do very little work bc of low torque. If I reminder right they produce AC as well. That fooled me at first.

Nadie que recicla de estas cosas tiene un torno o equipos para realizar mecanizado...otro detalle importante que se han olvidado es que estos dc motores son de funcionamiento temporal, es necesario rediseñar un sistema de ventilacion para un funcionamiento continuo

To really improve it, it needs to be rewound as Tesla would, not Edison. That is a 10 pole motor. It could be rewound to remove the bemf by making 5 independent coils, with a N & S wound sub coil, making it 50% more powerful. Independently wired N-S combo coil will need a resistance of about 1.5ohm.

It may not have needed a new bushing. The end of the shaft often has a small cupped recess with a bearing ball sitting in it (about 3mm/4mm dia). When you pull the stator out of the cup, the ball jumps out and sticks to the back end of a magnet. Use cyanoacrylate adhesive to make it stay where it belongs.

Nice idea. 2:50 you should make better mechanical connection. Only tin will break again on vibrations. I think these motor could not be switched on for a long tine. They are designed for short time use and will overheat otherwise.

Good video, thanks. When the drill you're using gives up you can put the chuck on this motor. Even have forward and reverse as a power screw driver.

Should have replaced plain bearing with roller or needle bearings, sealed and lubed.

A similar motor can be found in some Chevy car seat recliners. Basically the exact same with a different gearbox/shaft.

You must have ROTATION of brush armature to get generation of power. Magnetic field is difficult to explain. Creation of rotation to 4 screws INCORRECT alignment of brush set and try again.

Para SER um bom gerador, as escovas deveriam ser montadas numa angulação diferente da original. Mas isso requer imprimir uma nova base para as escovas, somente depois de se encontrar um melhor ângulo. Mesmo assim, a eficiência não será das melhores por causa do comutador, também.

Purtroppo questo motore è progettato per funzionare per pochi secondi, sufficienti a muovere il vetro del veicolo, non avendo raffreddamento si brucerà in un uso continuo.
