Many people have asked us if we have simply placed a foam tip on the end of a regular arrow. The simple answer is NO! That would be incredibly dangerous, and would almost certainly result in serious injury.
Archery Tag has an established design and engineering firm behind it's technology, and our custom tips have undergone a series of tests to ensure that they are safe for players of all ages.
Do NOT attempt to manufacture your own arrows at home. It's a really, really bad idea...and you will probably die.
BUSINESS OWNERS: To learn how you can open your own Archery Tag facility, please call 1-855-694-6784 or visit archerytag.com/licensee.

That's correct! Archery Tag is like paintball with bows and foam-tipped arrows, but without the mess or the pain. Be sure to check out some of our other videos to see the game in action!

@EliteFreak71 No, unfortunately compounds and crossbows can't be used because of their kinetic energy. The weight of the blunt on the end of the arrow could cause the arrow to shatter when being fired out of compounds and/or crossbows...and that's not a good thing. Just recurves and longbows at this point. Thanks for the great question, and thanks for watching! Have a great Friday.

@waffles4me111 "Regular" recurve and longbows like the one in this video are the only kind that can be used in Archery Tag. Compounds and crossbows are not allowed. Thanks for your comment.

@aoxilus Actually, this video was made because we were getting messages from people who had seen our videos & attempted to construct their own arrows, resulting in injury. We wanted to demonstrate that manufacturing your own arrow & shooting it at a friend is NOT a good idea. Thanks for watching.

Great question! A compound bow uses a system of pulleys to bend back the limbs and pull back the arrow. Traditional bows don't use pulleys of any kind and include recurve bows (bows with tips that curve away from the archer) and longbows. Archery Tag bows are recurve bows, designed to be durable yet simple and easy for first-time archers to use. Thanks for the question!
@archerytag

@MrBaseball65 EXCELLENT question, thank you for asking! The standard playing field is 100'x50', and if you arc your shot, you can hit an opponent from one end to another. In fact, quite often, arrows are shot 10-20' out of bounds, so, at full draw with a 28# bow, a strong archer can easily shoot over 100'. And our newly released tips are shockingly accurate.

Absolutely! Our online store features some basic Archery Tag bow and arrow sets that are designed for safe shooting at home. Just visit store . archerytag . com ! You're right; that does matter! That's why Archery Tag bows have a maximum poundage of 28 lbs.; using anything heavier is NOT recommended. Thanks for the great question!

You can also glue a coin or a soda cap or any similar round metal object to the top of your arrow before applying the foam. This method is recognized by every roleplay/wargame association that i've ever been in contact with, and works fine up to abut 30 lbs. The rule is usually that the metal blunt should be slightly larger in diameter than a human eyesocket. This way your arrows are completely safe to shoot at your friends and family. xD

That depends. If you want to play Archery Tag (highly recommended!), all our bows are simple recurve bows that first-time archers find easy to learn and use. The beauty of traditional bows (recurve or longbow) really is in their simplicity, and many archers prefer them for that reason. (Full disclosure: our parent company, Instinct Archery, makes and sells traditional bows.) Compound bows certainly have their uses, but tend to get complicated with sights, counter weights and assorted gadgets.

@greatoutdoorsguy123 The Archery Tag arrows underwent numerous tests by an engineering and design firm, and are quite safe, but we produced this video because several people were sending us pictures of bruises and cuts that they had incurred after attempting to construct homemade arrows, which proved to be quite dangerous.

Do you sell the tips to screw to any arrow or is the it one unit? I've seen safe tips that look like tennis balls but softer... this seems like it would hurt a little less but I'm not changing out all my arrows just for a slightly less noticeable hit

Still morning for another 6 minutes here in Indiana... :) For the best (safest) results, we recommend official Archery Tag recurve bows (available on our website). If you prefer to use your own bow, that's fine too, as long as it's a recurve or longbow with 28lb draw weight or less. Our arrows are only rated for up to 28lbs, and can not be used in compounds or crossbows because the kinetic energy in those is too high & could shatter the arrows. Hope that helps! Have a good afternoon!
@archerytag
@archerytag 12 жыл бұрын
@pyromaster37 Another excellent question. Unfortunately, no, we don't offer arrow kits because there is no way that we could guarantee that users would assemble them correctly, and that leaves too much room for injury. However, you can buy the arrows without buying a whole Tagmaster set. It's just $40 for four arrows. Check out the link on our channel. Thanks, and have a great Christmas!

Looks like hell of fun! I am an experienced paint ball player and I love the sport! I can't believe I have not heard of this new game of "archery tag" until now!! I really want to give it a try. I can not find any equipment for sale however. If I have to rent the equipment at a field, that would be for the first outing. But I would want my own gear. If also like to practice and check out how the arrow flies with such a blunt end...

Because we are *very* concerned with safety, we actually do not have Archery Tag arrows currently available for retail purchase. We don't want anyone buying our arrows and using them in an unsafe manner (like with a compound bow or heavy-pound recurve), so we now make our arrows exclusively for licensed affiliates who run supervised Archery Tag games. Safety comes first and, as this video demonstrates, our arrows are 100% safe when used properly. Thanks for your comment!
@archerytag
@archerytag 11 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean by "a fair test." The foam on our arrows is indeed supported by a circular plastic blunt, and that design is what makes them safer to use than merely sticking foam on the end of a regular arrow. That's all we're trying to demonstrate with this video.
@archerytag
@archerytag 11 жыл бұрын
Gotcha! We're just trying to show that there's more to our arrow design than sticking a marshmallow or piece of foam on the end of a regular arrow. If that's all our arrows did, they could still pierce and cause serious damage. But our engineers have designed a special blunt and foam tip that absorb the impact and make our arrow completely safe for combat play. Hope that helps answer your question!
@archerytag
@archerytag 12 жыл бұрын
We stand behind the safety of our arrows 100% and have found Archery Tag to be a far safer sport than paintball, which can cause cuts and massive bruising. You can check out more details on the safety of our arrows at archerytag . com / safety.

Not without a significant risk of injury. We produced this video because we received pictures from people who attempted to manufacture their own arrows, resulting in cuts and bruises. Often, then arrows fell apart after just a few shots. This video isn't so much intended to sell arrows...it's more just our way of saying "Please don't kill yourselves in the attempt to save $12 on an arrow." If you want to play Archery Tag, play it correctly. Be safe - and have a great week!

@nerflongstrikecs6 There are all kinds of ways to play. There's a dodgeball-style game, but there are also arena battles, paintball-style battles in the woods, target shooting (allowing archers who live in town to practice in their backyards), and one of my favorites...Deer Hunter, where everybody goes into the woods and hides, and one player (the "deer") has to get to three specific points without getting shot. That one's a blast!
