I have lived in Minsk Belarus since September 2021. From my experiences here in Belarus, I have this advice about living in or visiting Belarus. This travel advice for Belarus is designed for foreigners who may want to visit or to relocate to Belarus. Feel free to take my advice or to ignore my advice about coming to Belarus. I personally mainly stayed in Minsk but I did travel to smaller cities and some villages in the nation of Belarus. For example, Grodno, Brest, Mogilev, Gomel etc.

The seriousness, the ethics, the education of the people, the possibility of circulating serenely through the streets without fear of being attacked, the lack of vagabonds, time wasters and boring street vendors, all these things are priceless and certainly contribute in a crucial to the quality of life of a nation

I've been visiting for nearly 6 years, I suppose it's quite different to live there on a permanent basis. I found my wife in Belarus, she's awesome, one of the last places on earth, to find a true traditional woman. I love the country, the food, the culture. My long-term plans are to retire there. Yes, there are problems, economically and politically speaking, but it's generally safe and much less expensive to stay in Belarus than in most of Europe. I honestly feel it's worth a visit, at least for a week or two...... if you want a real wife who will love and cherish you, chances are you will find her in Belarus......... I did it, an ordinary bloke from South Africa......

I just love the Russian/Belorussian culture because it is not westernized. Western society has become just utterly depressing with twerking females and degenerate "gangsta" males....drugs, porn, and spolied self absorbed humans with little ambition or appreciation for the easy life that we live. Sadly I talk to many Russians who dream to come here and join in on the western dream, thinking that it's still like things were 30 40 years ago, with the convieniences of today, but it's not.

Hey I would kill to live in Belarus instead of here in boring, trashy, homelessness, stagnant high cost of living that's just murder for your wallet Colorado Springs, CO. Boring? Sure, we have that here. Just a long stroad with potholes the size of a moon crater that hasn't been patched up since the 70s. Crime has gone out of control. Weed I believe is contributing to that. Belarus highly doubt they've legalized it there in a place that's strongly Christian conservative. I wouldn't mind trading places with you bub cause here in the good old usa things are looking pretty bad!

Pros and cons everywhere. If I can offer a piece of advice, never judge a place until you have lived there. Belarus is not a Christian paradise as you seem to think. Do resist the temptation to idealize from within a political echo chamber 👍
@iLikeTigerz101
@iLikeTigerz101 Жыл бұрын
@@AustralianInBelarus I never said Christian paradise but when compared to a state that teaches kids queer theory in school and having drag story hour that sure does make a country look like a choir boy. I know for a fact that eastern European countries hold dearly traditional family values compared to the secular west. Belarus doesn't have homeless pot heads doing a number on the sidewalk. They don't have soft on crime policies like we do here cause of systematic racism which doesn't exist.

@@iLikeTigerz101 Belarus culture is heavily influenced by their socialist past and men and women are equal, there is no huge focus on fulfilling traditional neoconservative roles such as those you have in the West. The reason Belarus is much safer and more ethical than the USA is that it didn't open its society to a liberal-conservative economy and dictatorship of profit-based capitalist companies. So you need to change your pro-West perspective and embrace Slavic culture if you want to be part of it. Belarus Communist Party is also pretty strong and influential and you will learn that kind of social justice that liberals practice in America and the one that is practiced by people in Belarus is a lot different.

My mother's whole family are originally from Belarus but migrated to the U.S. before WWII. I would love to go there some time, but I'm afraid there is no one left to visit. Grandma spoke fluent Russian and Polish; never mentioned anything about Belarusian people, and I didn't know to ask. Thank you for providing these wonderful views of places I can now only dream about. That underground area you showed is really nice....so quiet, and the warm honey-golden ceiling lights are simple yet magnificent. From a fan in Australia.

😂 I don’t think it is worth you applying for any jobs at the Belarus Tourist Centre 😁 I think some context is needed here. Ok, so maybe it does not boast the Eiffel Tower, the Grand Canyon or the Taj Mahal. It does not mean it is not worth visiting though because everyone has their own motivations for travelling and visiting different countries. I have been several times and would go again. But then I do have a Belarusian girlfriend who I adore. I am going back again in January and I would happily go there every few months and even consider living there in the future.

It is not difficult to guess that the advantages of Belarus (the lowest crime rate in Europe, incredible cleanliness of cities, minimal LGBT influence, etc.) stand and fall with Lukashenko. If Lukashenko falls, as it will one day, Belarus will become a second Ukraine, that is, an absolute morass in all respects. A foreigner who comes to live in Belarus, does not stick his nose into politics and has a guaranteed income from abroad, can certainly live comfortably and definitely better than the locals in Belarus. But he will still be a suspect for the regime, and when Lukashenko falls, foreigner's peaceful life will be quickly over. Greet from Czechia.
