In this week’s #AskDrDurie, myeloma expert Dr. Brian G.M. Durie discusses when MGUS patients should undergo bone marrow biopsy and how the IMF’s iStopMM study results-presented at the 2022 American Society of Hematology (ASH) meeting-may help predict when a bone marrow biopsy is needed.
The BOTTOM LINE: Using the iStopMM model, bone marrow sampling may be safely deferred. However, other studies will be needed for validation.
