I need your stand measurements. Lol I’m having a heck of a time making one to fit…

Hey Rhonda! I use a 1x6. The bottom is 30" - The top is 40" & the upright is 20" Cut a 45 on the upright & screw it all together :) You don't necessarily need the stands. I use them to angle the heater toward the sun.

Super cool! Very simple looking, but sounds like it works well. Love the engineering! I wonder if reflective material inside would help it reflect more heat? 🤔

Thanks! The heater works well & keeps the pool comfortable through September :) I'm not sure about the reflective material & how hot it would get inside the unit. I don't wanna end up melting everything 😜😅 It already gets super hot inside. Thanks for dropping by & have a great weekend!! @RCInsiders

I'm planning on building one of these this spring. If you had to do it again(construction wise) is there anything you'd do differently from your other two videos? Like buying plexiglass instead of your current cover? Wider hoses, etc? Also, do you ever heat your pool while the pool solar cover is on? If so, does the hot water coming into your pool melt the part near your solar cover? Or do you have ways to reduce that chance? Like having the return hose go further underwater instead of it at the surface. I was planning on having the return line be in the corner of the pool so I can heat it while the cover is on, but also don't want to destroy my solar cover as it wasn't cheap for my 32' intex pool. 😅

Hi Brandon, Construction wise no. I think this is the most efficient and economical way to build the solar heater while keeping it compact & portable. For the cover, I would like to go plexi, but it is very expensive at the moment. This cover lasts a long time & traps heat well. I think the tubes are the right mix as they give the water sufficient time for heating with this size pump. I always run the heater with the solar cover on & have not damaged it so far 🤣 I have been more than happy with the results so far & am thinking of building another one if it ever gets warm here! Pool season is already so short in Michigan, if I can squeeze a couple extra weeks out of the pool I'll call it a win 😁 When are building your heater? Thanks for dropping by & happy heating my friend!! @RCInsiders

I built a similar heating module but my problem is I used 1/2" irrigation tubing and put a plexiglass cover over the frame. I live in Florida and the tubing is actually melting in spots where the temperature apparently is too hot. What tubing do you use or what tubing can you suggest that will not melt?

Hey Joe, That's unfortunate. I used to live in Florida as well & know how hot it can get! Here is the tubing I use - amzn.to/2O3HaZs It gets pretty hot here in the summer & I haven't had it melt yet after years of use. How big is the heater you built? Thanks for dropping by & have a great day :) @RCInsiders

I used a red lion sump pump and it burnt up in an hour. I have 450 feet of 1/2 inch irrigation pipe. What pump would I need?

Hi Jason, This is the pump I use - amzn.to/33pkhrl I have used it for years & I have about the same 450 feet of tubing. How big is your pool? Thanks for dropping by & have a great day! @RCInsiders

I know you're going to have water heating up with the Sun hitting a black hose but I wish somebody would do one of these videos that based on whatever Dimensions their pool is how long did they run the hot water into the pool does start seeing a increase in the actual pool temperature. You're probably want to measure the change in temperature from an opposite where the hot water is going into the pool rather than measuring the water where the hot water is going into it going into it. If anybody knows the correct calculations to do it as otherwise I really don't have time for these videos as making the actual equipment is not a big deal

Hi, Here is the original video of the build - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jNBkp7yClcjIc5s.html You can forward through the build to where I talk about results. I have been heating my pool with the solar pool heater for years & have no complaints. My pool is always warm & with these heaters I can start pool season earlier & run later than without & it's always comfortable. There are way too many variables for someone to tell you how long it will take to heat your pool or to a certain temp. Amount of direct sun per day, how much tubing you use, how you build it & amount of sunny vs cloudy days just to name a few. I now just run the heated water hose so it dumps in directly where the pump dumps in. This spreads the warm water throughout the pool. If you have any other questions I will be happy to help :) Thanks for dropping by & have a great day 😀 @RCInsiders
