Doc explains that nutrients from synthetic fertilizers and organic fertilizers are the same. No one can determine from which the nutrient came. He also explains that the only problem with both is over application. There are risks for both and he explains.

About four years ago, my long-time garden started performing poorly. I only used organic practices and when I tested the soil, I discovered exactly what you said: very high phosphorus. Organic die-hards will say that can be corrected by selecting the right compost sources etc. But I find the only people successful at it are those whose garden is their full time job. My garden isn't mine so I started blending organic practices with stnthetic fertilizers and my garden has the highest yields ever. In general, I have found that every organic gardening trend that comes out has merit but is always flawed or incomplete in some way. The issue comes from people who don't know how to use the word "chemical" properly in a sentence. They sell organic as a magic bullet and it's not.

I was doing pgf 16 0 18 last year every 3 weeks had to mow every 3 days but didn’t get good grass spread. After a soil test, putting 16 4 8 and going to try some green shocker plus black jack Bermuda seed. Hope I have good weather this year.

Seems like I remember you stating that one of the best ways to turn crappy soil into good soil in your lawn was to use a cheap 10-10-10 for the first 2-3 applications. Is that still your recommendation? I followed this last year and it has started to turn parts of my yard around the other parts are still a work in process,

Soil testing, soil testing... once the grass starts then nitrogen and soil health.

Thanks Doc, I picked up 6 bags of the cheap 10-10-10 at my local feed-n-seed to throw out last Saturday but as luck would have it the tire on my broadcast spreader was flat. Still waiting on my tree guy to come and grind up the stumps and roots. Is there anything that I should be concerned about once the stumps and roots have all been ground up?@@HowTowithDoc

Sure... but make sure you have nutrients and seed down.

I shop at home Depot in California and I noticed they never have a balanced fertilizer, it's always something like 20 0 6 , I never see anything with phosphorus included. Is there a reason behind that?

Doc, just got my soil sample back and my pH is 7.9 and extremely low nitrogen levels. Any recommendations for sulfur products to get that down? Bermuda grass in central Texas with clay soil

Hey doc when making my super soil for the garden, my piles come out too firm or compacted. It’s not like yours, very soft looking. What I’m I doing wrong help?

Don't over water... or under water... turn them daily. Watch the previous video.
