In American sports we call it tanking when a team purposely loses. As an Arsenal fan I think if Spurs does this naturally and not open themselves up to an investigation, then this might be the greatest tanking in recent history. So I get where the fans are coming from.

Ill give an example of a similar situation recently, League 1 relegation battle, Peterborough are my team (cambridge) rivals and they were playing Cheltenham our relegation team we were fighting against, Boro out of spite cus they hate Cambridge played a youth team so they purposly lost......... I understand their fans not wanting them to win (though, it still is a little small time to be so worried about your rivals rather than your own club) because tribalism in football is huge. But the club, not the fans, will absolutely want to win the game. Two wins could see them secure Champions League football.
