See, that's the problem. You're already in the wrong tree. When you say "I," you're already eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. To God be the glory for nobody is good but only Jesus. If you bear fruit is because of the Holy Spirit of God. Praises are always to God and not "I"

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. The fruits of the Spirit don't mean you have all of them. A fruit tree doesn't have multiple different fruits. If you have all the 9 fruits of the Holy Spirit, congratulations! You are perfect. However, James said in James 2:10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. The tree of life is the only fruit tree that yields different fruits every month in Revelation 22:2 in New Heaven and New Earth. Praise be to God for the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

@@bobbibrayshaw2461 I have listened to every Paul Washer thing I've been able to and have been moved deeply by all of them. It's just this one thing that every time he says it it kind of makes it seem like people shouldn't go to the gym and workout.

Come to work with me at the fire department and you will see people all the time who can't get off the ground simply because they aren't strong enough because they've chosen to live a sedentary lifestyle.

‘Assurance of salvation’ is hubris. It’s man thinking he was chosen to be saved by God while others are not. Either ALL are saved or none are. God does not play favorites.

It is NOT thinking "he was chosen to be saved by God whilst others are not". As unpalatable as it maybe to universal/carnal logic minded professors; The doctrine of ELECTION is stamped throughout the scripture, we must not 'cherry pick' God's word to our own liking. ie) was Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Samuel, David, Isaiah, Elijah, Jeremiah, the disciples, Apostle Paul etc chosen/elect of God? There are markers that distinguishes a child of God, here are a selected few: 1) Many are called, BUT few are chosen. (Matthew 22:14) 2) the Spirit bear witness testify with our spirit that we are the children of God. (Romans 8:16) 3) The fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience,kindness, goodness, faithfulness etc (Galatians 5:22-26) 4)Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:8) 5) this is how we know we have passed from death to life, if we have love for the brethren (1John 3:14-20)

Christ is the savior of the cosmos (totality of creation). As a matter of fact Paul states as much in Corinthians (specifically 1 Corinthians 15).

Please read all of God's word....what are you saying about "cosmos" ? "Arbitrary what"? I was quoting what you initially( I assume as a universalist ) said in your comment that "the Lord either saves all or non at all ". So my position in scriptural is that "Election is in the bible"... like it or not!!My second point is one can have/can know they have assurance of salvation by various markers and I listed it. This is not, points of view or political rheteric for it is sound theology. It is why believers must be grounded in God's scriptural truth and not rely on clever arguments les they be deceived. I state this with sincerity. The word of God is Spirit and Life, no carnal intellegence will receive it neither is able to comprehend it. For if the word is hid, it is hid from those that are lost. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4

Remember people.... truth offends (more so to those who live a lie) Many professors of Christ will cry "Lord, Lord" but will be shocked when at the last realise they were never regenerated/born again. Its why the apostle Paul exhorts believers to "examine themselves to see if they are in the faith" (2 Corin 13:5) The Lord Jesus told the Pharisees to first clean the inside of the cup then the outside will be clean, not the otherway round. Matthews 23:25-29 If your profession is mere outwardly, having a FORM OF GODLINESS but denying the power there of 2 Timothy 3:5-7 with no changes in the inward man. It ought to set alarm bells ringing.
