You need to wait until the bottle is dry on the inside to really see if it did it's job, I've been a bottle collector for over 45 years

How did it look after the water inside dried? A lot of bottles will look okay while wet and after the material clinging to them has been removed. They often are seen to remain cloudy and stained after they dry though. The glass has been etched and little can be done for that except cleaning with abrasive and polishing compounds in a tumbling machine especially designed for that purpose. Well worth doing on valuable bottles. Not really worth it on the more common ones.

There are all kinds of ways to clean bottles but my short method seems to work the best. I use warm water, dawn dish detergent, CLR, bar keeper's friend, a dish sponge and SOS pad sometimes for stubborn areas and bottle brushes. And use rice inside to get into the corners and shake vigorously.

I collect old kerosene lamps. If you get a dirty font from the evaporated kerosene, just add full strength Mr Clean and let it soak for a half hr or so, empty and rinse! Sparkling lamps! 😜😂🤣😂

This whole time I was cleaning my vintage coke bottles with a few rice grains and water and a good shake. I'm going to start doing this now.😂

I did this on four different bottles, didn't work AT ALL. I even tried letting them soak for hours. Does not do anything.

I would be absolutely careful about mixing different chemicals....

I have. 1940s Mountain bottle mind not a single crack found it in a ditch in an old creek I was trying so hard not to pull it out an break it luckily it’s not broken now sitting for display

After it drys I'm sure you know it goes right back to the patina 😢
