I’m 47… Growing up as a kid I had this album cover stuck to my wall after my sister sat me down and made me listen to Peter Frampton make his guitar talk. I was totally mesmerized and pleaded with my dad to get an electric guitar... Anytime I hear this song I’m taken back to those days when music was pure magic and Frampton was king. You absolutely nailed it Tom! 🏆

@@roquefortfiles please take the TIME to RE READ my comment. You should know...as a musician it's often about capturing the essence of the performance not putting each note in place to mimic one specific version in time. Otherwise he may as well be in useless tribute band. The TONE the FEEL and the PACING IS perfect in relation to capturing the essence of the performance.

Who's not getting goose bumps. It's like a time machine back to the great 70's!! Frampton is one of the greatest Lead Guitar Players of our time. This is one of the greatest solos of the 20th Century. You totally opened the box to all the secrets of Frampton's great guitar work. And the best is, he stays well within the basic Minor pentatonic Scale with a little touch of Major bits here and there. The MXR Talk Box is the one on my pedalboard. It's bulletproof. Your solo lessons are a great help for learning for the band I'm in. They are so accurate! Thank you for your awesome work!!

Frampton has such identifiable phrasing that no matter what guitar he plays when he solos you know it's him. His intonation has a unique finesse and no other guitarist has his blend of blues/rock/major scale.

Thanks. There's one part I think he played on different strings that I would do if I recorded it again. It's the part from 9:26 to 9:45. I think he probably played it on the high E and B string instead of on the B and G string. Actually I started on the 4th string 12th fret - I would have started it on the third string 7th fret D. It works out much nicer to see the scales if you use the higher strings and not the middle three strings. So I'm pretty sure when he was improvising he would have went to that area on the neck.

I've been working on this pretty heavily over the last couple days. I keep listening to the song and different versions, including PF's version, your version, and the version I'll be playing in JamZone (with the guitar and vocal tracks muted, of course).
