Yes. Had surgery on my leg and foot. My oldest son helped me with mine. And is still helping while I heal. Mine also went on vacation with me. After all I wouldn't leave my kids home while on vacation and that also includes my fur babies.

I was the Godmother of the Piggies (my brother's) - I always knew I was going to end up with lots of piggies aside from my own! Btw, @2:06 Pipster is so funny! Second half of the video, Onyx is just hanging out so adorably. Thank you for this video - no one talks about that sort of emergency. I don't think I have ever seen a video by anyone about that. You rock (like ruby eyed piggies!).

Yes, my sister is who helps me out 😊. She looked after my piggies when I was in hospital a few years ago, and is my second opinion on anything odd that I spot with them. Like me, shes also a guinea pig fosterer so they couldn't be in better hands. It also means I'm her backup with her herd in case of emergencies.

It's important as we once had to re-home my nephew's snake as he sadly passed away aged 30. We already had guinea pigs so it wouldn't have been something we could look after. A ethical local pet shop took on the snake and the snake has a great life. Part of school program on snakes and other animals.

@@ScottysAnimals It ok. It was a hard thing at the time but it's always more important that they have a responsible owner and loving home. The thing is snakes aren't our thing anyway, so it wouldn't have worked out well as we'd have feared our piggies safety. However, the snake is in an educational program now and my nephew would have loved that, kids experiencing snakes. 🐍

No Exotic Vets for 300 miles thru the mountains. No willing relatives interested in pets. At 77, it's been my core concern for decades.

Oh my gosh, this has been the hardest and it seems like our piggies are the hardest when it comes to finding someone in an emergency. What we find enduring, most get grossed out. It seems like eveything, until they see how much they poop. When I went into the hospital from a dr. appointment, my mom took care of Harriet, but she was like...no poop! Luckily, at the time I had a huge hay container and Harriet did her business in there and my mom could manage and top off the hay, but yeah, my sister has dogs, and something to seriously discuss when she comes up from out of town. It's hard and sad that we seem to have to do more than if we had other pets.Thanks Scotty for a good reminder, but it's a worry too.

Have you seen the Red-Eyes Rock music video? It's amazing! Scotty does all the parts - singing, drums, and guitar. It was done four years ago, so people may not know about it. Lots of piggies - they don't sing, but they're so cute!

My son is an animal control officer at a Utah sheriff's dept. so his brother could take the piggie boys out there if the Humane Society here in Reno can't take them. How about YOU Scotty?
