Very good information.. I had recently applied for a US VISA C1D (SHIP CREW) my joining onboard cruise vessel as a crew is scheduled on dec 2 from Ft Lauderdale. My application was all correct. I attended the visa interview at US Consulate, Mumbai, IN. Unfortunately, I didn't get my visa granted. My interview went well which was expected to be completed in 2mins generally for a crew visa. I revealed that I had been in Iran during my last vessel contract, when they asked about International Travel history. I never had Crossed Iran's immigration since I had joined my vessel in India and the vessel is just making a port call on the way to India. They asked me whether I carried Iranian Oil on my last ship, I answered NO it was a container ship. There is a news that working on Iranian tankers voids the USA visa eligibility. But I made it clear to the consular officer that I was working on board a dry cargo vessel flying the St Kitts flag and owned by Oman. But the officer issued me a 221G blue letter and asked me to send supporting documents and I've mailed everything they asked. I have attached convincing amount of information and my intentions in entering USA. Its been a week and no replies, contact center says that case is under administrative processing. I really need my C1D otherwise it will stop me from being employed on board the ship. From an experienced visa officers perspective, what might happen to my case.

I think he gives good information... Better than those Idp(Ielts) experts.... who just confuse us and talk round and round... "To-the-point information" is important for making changes...

My VO interrupted me when I was answering the first question and asked me about my sponsor midway during my answer. Then he proceeded to interrupt me again and proceeded to leave the window and came back after some time and denied. I have 7.5 in Ielts speaking and I am confident about my speaking so I don’t think my answers were the problem. No gaps, 80% scholarship. Maybe I am just frustrated rn but I don’t think that I was evaluated properly.

I'm curious tho, my visa interview was rejected for the 4th time. I knew I was denied at the first window when the guy took my passport and instruction letter, he took my finger prints then gave me back my passport and told me to have a good day. I was so confused, the guard came to me n told me to sit down, i was second in line to interview so when it was my turn I answered the questions and then were given the denial letter. I was not asked for any documents as proof of anything nor was I given the chance to provide my evidence. I was denied an I wish that I could dispute my denial.

Hi Sir… I had gone for a h4 visa interview and was handed over a 221g slip to submit my husband’s h1 visa copy. Until I submitted the copy… my visa status was ‘refused’ on ceac website. After the submission of the required document; the status showed as ‘approved’. But in two days the status was updated to ‘application received’ and then the next day its updated as ‘refused’.
