I was bored and I wanted to change the scenery so I made up my mind to go shopping and I dropped my baby off at my mom's house that made me feel peace of mind, while I was walking in the mall I bumped into my old friend at the end of the day we had a lot of fun and that did me good. Thanks a lot 🌹

Thanks a lot for this amazing lesson. I propose some examples of sentences with those idioms I am sick of living in this apartment. I need a change of scenery. That will do me good to live in a big house with a beautiful garden. But, first of all, for my own peace of mind, I'd better go to the bank to analyze my financial situation. I have to bite the bullet if I want to pass this exam with flying colors. My mind went blank when the examiner asked me to explain the Pearl harbour's attack in 1941.

As an english native, this is very true. Though some people may frown on it with the words, but "Speak of the Devil" is kinda rude, but is often used as an idioms too but more towards just friends/someone who can take a joke you know. With a basic definition of "someone you were talking about suddenly appears." Speak of the Devil. "Maybe she's running late?" you tell your coworkers. Suddenly they appear. "Speak of the Devil." You would tell that person.

Actually, we have the same kinds of expressions with similar meanings in Finland. 1) Change of scenery/maisemanvaihdos, 2) Do someone good/tekisi hyvää, 3) Peace of mind/mielenrauhaa, 4) The last thing I want/sitä nyt en ainakaan halua, 6) Mind goes blank/aivot lyö tyhjää, 7) It's on the tip of my tongue/se on aivan kielen päällä. With kind regards, Ari.

Playing soccer on weekends is a change of scenery to me since I work from home. Running during the whole match for exercise does me good. I raise several golden fish, giving me peace of mind when I feed and watch them. Doing the repetitive work is the last thing I want to do, I want to out of the comfortable zone to challenge my limit, but I have to bite the bullet and endure the difficult processes. I don't express my plans to others since I don't want to speak too soon.

Conversation: After five years working for this company I decided to quit. I know, because of the Covid Pandemic, we're not at a good time to search for a new a job and THE LAST THING I WANT is to be unemployed for a long time. But I'm very tired and I think that a CHANGE OF SCENERY will be enough to DO ME SOME GOOD. I don't know if I will earn more or less in my future job, but for PEACE OF MIND I wanna try something better, even if I fail. I will only know if I try. I DON'T WANT TO SPEAK TO SOON, but God told in my prayers that I'll make it. And on my first vacations of my next job, I will go to...oh gosh, IT'S ON THE TIP OF MY TONGUE...I will go to Maldivas. I wanna have much fun and ride that whatchamacallit, MY MIND WENT BLANK right now...Iatche, yes, I wanna ride Yatche. So Thank you Arnel!!! PS: the begining of the story is true, but the end, not that much...

"Biting the bullet" is said to have originated in the time before anesthesia, from the practice giving an injured person a bullet to bite on to help them endure the pain of treatment and also help the patient avoid biting their own tongue! So, if you're going to "bite the bullet," you're going to do something you REALLY aren't going to enjoy.
