Showing this not so commonly known adjustment you can make on some stihl hedge trimmers. This is a Stihl hs45 and it wasn't reaching full throttle, I show why and how to adjust. If your hedge trimming is not revving correctly or seems underpowered this is worth checking out. They also sometimes have a similar setup on trimmers, so just look out for any adjustment screws near the throttle cable.

Excellent!! Thank you. I had just replaced some bits and my cable was to tight, stoping the correct function. Slackend the cable just a bit and now its working great. Would never have seen that screw without this vid.

hi there thanks for the video, i m facing a problem on my hs45 i have brand new stihl carb that doesnt have 2 setting screws anymore but just one and it the machine starts and dies immediatly , i have sparks etc

try turning your idle screw in.

@@cusoonmyfriend3738 I dont think thats the idle screw, thats the mixture screw. You should have 2 screws you can turn. Its the large one you need to look for

@@RJLmachinery it is new zama stihl carburetor, theres no more 2 screw but just one, i will find the part number and come back to tell you, thx

Hello Rob. I have the stihl fs 70 strimmer. A new carb has been fitted and it’s running fast ( high revs) using lots of fuel. Any advice is appreciated. Really enjoy these type of videos.

Hey mate, is it a genuine carb or knock off? Do you mean its running fast at idle? i.e head spinning when not throttled up?

It’s a genuine carb. Running fast ie spinning when idle. Using lost of fuel.

@@RJLmachinery they are really good on their prices, they are only about 20 miles away from me which is convenient.
