I have the course cut and fine cut variants. They are great. Washing with WD40 and a brush can work wonders. What would we do without those flap wheels... they work a treat on flails as well.

Depends what you're cutting. These hedges are knife through butter. Lovely thick hawthorn. Now that's a test

Do you put a little thread lock on the nuts just in case they back off?

No never bothered with that, I dont have any blades anymore that are the adjustable style, they are all fully tightened nuts and bolts.

You did not mention about balancing the blade after sharpening which I presume should be done same as when you sharpen a push mower or lawntractor blade.
@RJLmachinery
@RJLmachinery 5 күн бұрын
Its hard to balance these as they are not symmetrical. There is a little cut out on one side of the mounting hole which will obviously hinder the results. Buy yes you can try and balance these as best you can. Not quite as important as a mower blade but you certainly wouldnt want these miles out of balance.

Great video. Many thanks. I have just bought one of these machines. The PTO to sweeper belt is missing. No problem replacing that. I think the engine to PTO belt may be missing also but I can't be sure. Do you have any details on how to replace the engine to PTO belt. many thanks again.
@RJLmachinery
@RJLmachinery 7 күн бұрын
Thanks, you will have to remove the deck, then depending on the model, from underneath the bottom drive belt needs to come off the engine shaft pulley, you will have to undo some idler pulleys etc and disconnect the electromagnetic clutch to get the belts off. The PTO belt is normally the top belt closest to the engine.

thanks for the video - I've just bought one of these - is there a formula for number of hours usage per grease top up? I will just be using mine at home a few times a year for an hour or two each time so I'm hoping it's something I only have to do every year or two? Also do you recommend lubricating the blades and if so, what do you use?

Is this side-sling type of brush cutter easier on the muscles compared to the traditional backpack type? Also, how does the bike handle compare to the traditional on-the-stick handle when cutting on a slope or tight spaces? How long can you operate it with a full tank?
@RJLmachinery
@RJLmachinery 20 күн бұрын
For long stints of strimming a bike handle is alot more comfortable than the other options. A tank will last around 1hr maybe, depending on what you are trimming.
