Did the jumps and spins charts really just change? Like, we registered for levels based on the charts that started July 1st. Now, I go to look at all the charts to make sure my daughter is good for her competition in 3 weeks and the spins and jumps are all different! What happened there?

There was an updated chart posted for Singles Well Balanced Program Requirements that was posted 08/09/2023. The new chart is marked as Singles 2023-24 Free Skate Version 4.0 - 08/09/2023 DG/SM. However, it should not have changed that much. What level is your daughter? Or are you talking about something else?

@ Thanks for the reply. I am talking specifically about the specialty charts of spins and jumps challenges. We registered at pre-preliminary spins and no test jumps because of the way the charts were updated. Then, it appears they were updated again a week ago. So, what was in no test jumps is now pre preliminary (toe loop, flip, combination (Sonja was doing lutz loop). When things like that change, how do coaches get notified. I am just trying to learn about the process and levels. My daughter just moved up to excel pre preliminary. Our coach is great, but I was wondering how that worked. They were updated in the summer to start July 1 and then updated August 22.

Thanks for specifying the details! I have just checked the previous charts against the charts posted on 8/22/2023, which is version 3. The previous Jump Challenge charts may have had an error because the charts from last year match the current version. U.S. Figure Skating does not notify us when they post new charts. However, coaches that are members of PSA get alerts from the area manager via E-Reach. U.S. Figure Skating and PSA also host webinars about changes - usually after they happen. So, coaches often literally check Members Only every week. For spin and jump challenges, the requirements should also be listed in the competition announcement. That is what the competition will use - so check the announcement and reach out to the competition chair with any questions or concerns.

How about adults ?

There are no changes for adults this season. There is only one clarification that at Adult Pre-Bronze half flip and half lutz are permitted half jumps.
