Thanks for the comment . Yes the pocket 3 is good. But so is the pocket 2 . We all get caught up in thinking we have to get the latest and greatest. The Pocket 2 is perfectly capable for getting great footage. Enjoy it ! All the best

Thanks for this video. Did you color grade the end video for the iso 200?

No I didn't. just by changing the ISO to 200 it brightened up the image straight out of camera .. Regards Bill

What would we do for inside? I found that things would be too Dark. I would be walking around and it would just be very dark and over shadowed

Great content Bill. I've made a decision to only use AUTO FOCUS mode and D-CINELIKE profile for all my Osmo Pocket 2 videos and then spend more of my time editing in post to make my videos colorful and vibrant and apply LUTs too. In this case, do I really need ND filters or will they be counter productive if I'm trying to get as much data in the camera using D-Cinelike?

Thanks Ed. The ND filter will effect the shutter speed . If you want natural "motion blur" meaning people walking/running etc .It looks more natural to the eye . The problem with high shutter speeds ( for example do a little experiment with cars passing by for example) the cars will look "jittery" . With the 180 degree shutter rule ( shutter speed twice your frame rate ) Things look more natural. The ND wont effect "data" and it will help to stop your highlights being clipped . I would vote use an ND filter outside on bright or sunny days. All the best Bill Here's another video that may help explain it . kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ir-bmbV5mpOtqoE.html Also we have our DJI Pocket masterclass available at our website www.billbuckleytutorials.com/

Thanks for the clear explanation. Just one question, if I now want to video and move around while doing so, could I just switch back to Auto having worked out what ND filter to use?
@billbuckleytutorials
@billbuckleytutorials Жыл бұрын
Yes you could do either . Go back to auto is fine. However if for instance you were shooting a scene that had cars or people moving. Because of the high shutter speed they might look a little bit " jittery" The 24 fps and the 1/50 setting allows for a more cinematic look. Check out this video to explain it. But shooting in auto is also fine to start. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ir-bmbV5mpOtqoE.html

Thanks for sharing - I leave my variable ND on all the time - I believe the wide angle has problems with tracking and hence many want to have a dual wide angle and ND but the 20mm standard IMHO is still the best if your vlogging the wide angke only gives you a little bit extra at a cost to focus and tracking issues

Can I put a ND filter and leave it on Auto if i'm not too comfrotable going manual. Will this help a bit or this is totally pointless ?
@billbuckleytutorials
@billbuckleytutorials Жыл бұрын
Actually you could leave an ND on . and be in auto . This just means that even in auto the camera will not have to use such a High shutter speed to darken a light image . ( basically anytime you are outside ) . This will help with motion blur. Just remember to remove the ND if you go indoors or in really dark shade outside. ( you can tell as the image will be too dark. If so just remove it for that scene!) all the best .. Bill

You'll notice that in the first video the ISO is set to 100 . ( but image was a little dark) So I increased the ISO to 200 which makes the image brighter. Check out this other video that explains ISO kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h8ikobmosZPYZIU.html
