Sad that you need insurance to protect you from your own government.

I was a witness to a self defense shooting where the person involved was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill. A very serious charge. I gave my statement to the police and appeared before the magistrate to give my testimony. The person was charged but was released without bail. The charges were later dropped. Had I not been a witness I am sure that person would have most likely been convicted of something and went to prison. Thank you Mas for your service in law enforcement and for sharing your wealth of knowledge. I have learned much and you have reenforce much of my skills and knowledge with these videos.

I am a former federal prosecutor and took Mag 40 several years ago and signed up with ACLDN then. It is a first rate organization and a real bargain compared to other "insurance" offerings.

I went through it in 1997-1998. In my case a PI gathered the evidence we needed to get my case dismissed. Nearly two years of it hanging over my head, over 100k in legal and pi fees.

This is what scares me about concealed carry. If you have yo defend yourself you can be the one prosecuted.

I've been an ACLDN member for several renewals now. Just renewed again for another 3 years. Other than a writer of magazine articles, I never knew of Mas. Once I became a member of the network, I was tutored on ways to handle events that I never considered in a confrontation. As well as in the aftermath. Mas expertly delivered the information in a way only someone who "HAS BEEN THERE" could. I'm grateful for the topics covered in this series, thanks for giving your insight on the topics. We can never have too much repetition on such important subjects.

Mr. Ayoob, I just want to tell you that long ago, when my kids were learning about firearms I had them read “In the Gravest Extreme” as I had read it and learned a lot. Your ‘tip’ about throwing money one direction and running the other in a mugger situation saved my 18 year old son when he was in a large European city. And your suggestion that a retail store operator not wear a firearm in the store as it forces a robber to shoot you first changed a friend’s behavior in his place of business. Many good ideas and much information are contained in that book. I thank you and still listen to what you have to say.

"READ THE FINE PRINT" YES, I absolutely agree with this. However you cannot find the "fine print" on these carriers websites.

I have been a member of ACLDN since 2009. Thanks for what you do.

After retiring and getting my pension for being a police officer, I have spent the next 16 years training law enforcement and military in 17 countries around the world. With this said, my wife, my two daughters and I all belong to the Armed Citizens Legal Defense Network. PLEASE read the fine print for ALL of the people providing “coverage” and you will find that ACLDN is by far the very best that is offered. I have no interest in this organization other than I know most of their advisory board members and would “go through the door” with them. Protect yourself and all of your holdings.

I've been researching CCW insuarnce lately and ACLDN was coming up on my short-list. This helped cement my decision; I'll be joining today.

The network is a must. The sign-up was easy. Just do it. We stand together, or fall apart. Such are the times.

I've been with ACLDN for about 5 years. Their idea of educating you on doing the right things to avoid implications is great. Having such great people on their team such as Ayoob does offer more peace of mind to me. They have a nationwide set of lawyers you can have nearby to contact or you can refer to your own. You have to get things correct from the very start. Educate yourself and have a good team to back you. No, I don't want to EVER use such a team but I know life is not always what you want, and I most certainly don't want my loved ones or me to suffer bodily harm because others decided they will or might.

I joined ACLDN after seeing this video and being in the process of reading "Deadly Force". Our culture keeps changing and as far as I can see not for the better. My overview is Escape and Evade anything I can and not get involved in anyone else's drama. I don't want to spend time in court for any reason. Still, the day may come when all of those options are closed out. Better to have some help if that occurs.

I've been reading Mas since "In the Gravest Extreme" and joined ACLDN shortly after it started because of its stellar board members including Mas, John Farnham, Marty Hayes and more. Their board is like a who's who of the world's best expert witnesses for self defense trials and the best trainers and authors on the planet. I hope I never need to use it but know I'm in good hands if I ever do.

As I shifted through the solid instruction vs the hype on line, my better judgement steered me toward anything and everything produced or enforced by Mas as well as those that he surrounds himself with. ACLDN was an obvious choice for me when their top brass boasts the Rushmore of my training icons. As a MAG40 student and an ACLDN member I have no doubt the team I'll hopefully never need is my best line of defense.

USCCA was present at my CCP training giving us their pitch. It even seemed that the instructors were onboard and trying to get us to sign that day. When I told them I was going to research the topic and make an informed decision later, they dropped the pitch. Thanks for the video.

I’m a 62 year old disabled veteran (ambulatory) and a Concealed Carry Husband and Father. I feel Us Law Shield is a good one .They have Attorneys in every State . They also have Self Defence Seminars also all over the Country . Very well pleased with my membership .

I am a member and never had to use the benefits and hope I never do. After some research I have chosen Armed Citizens because of the way it is set up as members and not a so called insurance policy. The material I received with the training and lectures is worth the price in itself.. The years of experience and knowledge from the board is outstanding. I highly recommend it.

I remember reading a magazine article in the early 1990s by Mas that cited an open-and-shut case of self-defense costing well over $20k in legal defense fees by the time you even get to trial.

I never thought anyone of the providers of "Self Defense Insurance" would have so many reasons to NOT follow through with defending you (like if the incident were to take place in a "Gun Free Zone") I'd think a LARGE percentage of Self Defense shootings WOULD BE in a "Gun Free Zone. I am retired military and have always feared that they would try and use that against me in the unfortunate event that I ever have to use my firearm in self defense!

I chose the Armed Citizen’s Legal Defense Network. This is because many gun and self defense authorities also chose them. You will receive training about what constitutes a justified self defense.

Use USCCA, since I got my concealed carry 4 or 5 years ago. I will be reading the fine print and pray I will never need to use either.

A lot of very good points to consider and I understand and agree that it's up to us to read the fine print for whichever organization we are considering. But I was also kind of hoping for some recommendations or at least evaluations of some of the different groups. Yes, it's on us to read the fine print and verify exactly what we're signing up for but the reality is it's not always easy for the layman to understand all the legalese. Sometimes we need to turn to those more knowledgeable than ourselves to separate some of the wheat from the chaff.

Thanks for the heads up information! As an aside, it seems to me that if the State can go up against you with virtually unlimited financial resources, groups attorneys and investigators, connections to law enforcement that allow them to sift through evidence you may not have access to, other than in the "discovery" phase where you get to see what harmful things they dug up... but may never see exculpatory evidence they ran across from those same sources, then you get aquitted... the State should cover your legal costs, including time off work. If they don't have to indemnify you, then the State has no reason to worry about bringing unjustified charges against you. It's just wrong! Heck, they could outlaw guns, file suit against every gun owner in America that refuses to comply and drive them to bankruptcy regardless of innocence or the illegality of the gun ban... then just walk away.

If you have a good solid legal insurance plan, it may be that a prosecutor's office will drop the case entirely. Prosecutors like to have 'wins', they don't want a long drawn out fight in court. If they see that you have the resources to go to "legal war", they are likely to drop everything if they know they don't have much of a case. The best offense is a good defense. i've compared all available options, looked at charts, compared coverage vs expense, sent questions to reps of various groups, and i'm still satisfied with USCCA. they cover criminal and civil defense, with no limit on defense expense. they cover appeals. they cover lost wages, expert witness, bail bond, crime scene cleanup, and replacement cost of confiscated firearms. they also have a list of attorneys in my state and i can select the one i prefer, or go with one who they've agreed to respond rapidly to a call regardless of date or time. i've gone thru the fine print and feel confident that if i have not behaved inappropriately, that i have the best coverage available for the cost, and will have the highest likelihood of prevailing in court, should the occasion occur. God help us all. 🙏🇺🇲🙏🌍

I use CCW safe. They seem like pretty great insurance. They Do more than most.

Excellent video but I need more help. Need a video that really goes over reading the fine print. When I read legal contracts I always arrive at the same conclusion. I'm not educated enough to really understand what the words are saying from a legal system point of view, and I'm not knowledgeable enough to think of all the questions that should be asked.

Very well put, as usual, Mass. After doing the research and reading the contracts I joined ACLDN and strongly recommend it - ESPECIALLY IN WISCONSIN where some of the leading experts in this field reside and practice their trades!

I have owned a gun since 2010, but never thought about CCW until most recently. Since the guns I do own aren't ideal for CCW, I went ahead and purchased the a gun with CCW in mind and got my CCW permit, but I have yet to actually conceal carry, partly because I am still getting use to firing the gun I purchased, shopping around for the best CCW holster, and now looking into CCW coverage before I do start to carry. This video was very helpful in really taking the time to do some serious research about some form of CCW insurance. My philosophy is it is better to have it and not need it, then to not have it when I may find myself needing it, especially since financially there would be no way I could pay for a great and reliable attorney. When I think about CCW insurance, I am reminded about how when I bought my used Jeep I almost opted out on paying for a warranty. A year later I needed to get a new transmission, which would have cost me roughly would have costed me 5k, but luckily I had the warranty that covered that and I ended up just paying out of pocket $350, while the warranty covered the rest. the same thing also happened with my home's HVAC system needing to be replaced. Luckily, when I bought my home I also bought a Home warranty. Long story short, instead of paying about 3k for a new HVAC, I only ended up paying $150 as my warranty covered most of it. When it comes to CCW coverage, I don't want to be paying an arm and a leg for something that might have a fine print that I missed, as my life would be on the line, so I also had to think about my budget financially, while also making sure that not only can I afford it, but also that I I have the right coverage at a reasonable rate, because while I don't expect that I will ever have to draw my gun, there is still that statistical chance, especially with all the issues that is going on today in our country. Lastly, this video was an eye opener, Thank you.

I really like this channel! You are very good at what you are doing. I now have watched several of your videos and the information you give is beyond great. I'd don't know how else to describe it . Please keep doing what you are doing so that maybe it may keep someone from doing something that they will regret later. I think one of the most important takeaways is "read the fine print". Doing so kicks a lot of options to the curb. Question now would be is there a list of CCW 'insurance' plans that do NOT have land mines in their agreements?

Even if someone is exonerated from a criminal charge you can always be sued in a civil case..

Politicians who think you should be in prison for defending yourself, your home, and your property, are the ones who belong in prison.

A feature to look for is the provision of an attorney before you get charged, preferably before you have to talk to the police. As Mas has brought up before, your mouth can lose your case before it even gets started.

Look at the fine print of the insurance based plans like USCCA if you expect them to help you for your criminal defense. That fine print caused me to go with ACLDN instead.

I agree, read the fine print, and who is endorsing it. In addition, people forget that you may be temporarily imprisoned in the duration of the trial and may lose you job. So where is the income going to come from? Sadly, it will come down to protecting your family and yourself and not being able to help other people's lives and especially in blue cities and states.

An issue that has comes up is the type of ammo to use where bullets will NOT go through the bad guy and injure a bystander. I have had CCW Safe for several years and feel that they are comparable. The only limitations that I have noticed is that with them, you can't be drunk or drugged during a self defense encounter and also you are only covered when legally permitted to posses a firearm in the location where the self defense incident occurs.

Its sad things are changing so much that as a concealed carrier its better legally to run from an active shooter on many situations even if you know you can stop a shooter. So much going against lawful carriers to do the right thing because of democrats and laws that protect criminals. Please vote for whats right for good guys and let's vote to be stricter on criminals. I know Mr. Ayoob isn't selling us any company, but kinda wish he could have gone into a bit more detail in what "good" insurance looks like/the kinds of companies to look into apart from that first one he mentioned. Because the biggest take away I got was, even if I'm 100% justified in having to use self defense, sounds like I'm screwed because our legal system is that ridiculous that unless you can pay 100K or more in Lawyers...or become such a national media circus you can get people to pay for you, you're more or less screwed even if you get acquitted
