Books? Have you guys ever read hatchet? That’s a classic. A young Canadian boy is on a plane to visit his father because he’s staying with his mother in the states, the pilot has a heart attack and he does what he can but the plane crashes and he has to survive next to a Canadian lake in the middle of nowhere with nothing to get him by but a hatchet.

Hey guys, I remember when my daughter was born, I was 40 yrs old and extremely overweight and alcoholic. I prayed to God that He would let me be there for her all through growing up. About 5 months later I got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I was angry at first but God showed me that it was an opportunity to get healthy so I could be there for my little girl as she grows up. Fast forward 3 yrs and I’m not drinking anymore and in the best shape of my life. God made good on His promise!

I believe failure is our greatest teacher. If we succeed at everything we do, how are we ever going to learn? Nobody likes to fail , but it's necessary. I've learned more through my own failures than any of my successes.

So true, if you’re bitter, no matter how hard you try to hide it, people can see it. And if you think you’re suffering now, take a look at that incredible man who survived the Holocaust, and learned from it. You can’t beat that. You never know in life. That’s why you should do what makes you happy, successful, and proud. If you can be proud of yourself based on your actions and how you treat others, that is success. So don’t be afraid to suffer, be afraid to not suffer.

We need suffering. We can’t progress in our lifes without it. We become to lazy. But suffering keeps pushing us to our limits. Suffering is God giving gift, He gives us just enough of it to build us, to build and improve our character. Aswell it keeps us in track, it keeps us to not fly too high ‘cause that could be dangerous. It teaches us humility.

Gentlemen, your combined insights have breathed a breath of fresh air into my soul. Thank-you from the bottom of my heart. I grew up without a dad for the most part. However, I was lucky enough to have one friend that loved reading and made sure this particular passion rubbed off on me. Books became a refuge through all the struggles in my life and those around me. After having watched a few of your videos now I would love to hear your thoughts on the book written by Edward De Bono called Six Thinking Hats. Again, a very heartfelt thank-you and keep up the great content.

I've suffered greatly in my life, but my suffering mostly was from bad thinking and bad decisions which resulted in consequences, like Mike, Chaz suffering was not a direct result of his behavior, at least I don't think or see it that way,but either way I see the common denominator, which is humility and God. I thank God for everything I been through and that I had the strength to fight through it all, really fight myself for myself, but I too have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and today I understand much bad spiritual law.. sin is breaking spiritual law and when I do, I reap consequences of pain and suffering, and when I'm obedient to spiritual law,I reap results, which are joy and peace and happiness etc. The challenge is to study,be aware, and discipline myself to be obedient to spiritual law and reap the results of blessing of joy peace and health etc... God bless brothers!l. Thank you for using your platform to teach and inspire and motivate by shairing your personal experience through humility.

I'd read Man's Search for Meaning as an undergrad 40 years ago, and also his book The Doctor and the Soul, and it was an eye opening experience. I'm now a semi-retired clinical and forensic psychologist, and Frankl's books are still a goldmine of wisdom whenever I re-read them, I get more out of them every time. FYi, I've worked many years in both adult and juvenile corrections in two countries, and I've given passages from Frankl's works to the inmates, both juveniles and adults, who I've worked with.

Interesting enough, My Pops taught me many years ago that in the bible, BOTH New Testament AND Old Testament that in both (which happens very rarely as one is basically in Hebrew and one is in Greek) that one word in both languages means the exact same thing. The word is Passion. in both languages it is interchangeable with the word suffering. If you simply put it into the reference of the movies of all things. remember "The Passion of the Christ"? the movie was about how Christ suffered for us all simply because of his passion for every one of us. If you think about it, If you or anyone else is truly passionate about something, they are willing to suffer for it. as simple as a new car or something as meaningless as that. If you are truly passionate about a car, you are willing to suffer to some degree to get it, maintain it and care for it. it goes as deep as your family or neighbors. IF you are truly passionate for them you WILL be willing to suffer for them.

I don't know how often you've been asked this but something I wanna ask is if you have a Bible study channel. My faith has been fading and from your experiences; having nothing, going with everything on your shoulders; from a poor man to a rich man and not in wages. I want that faith, I want to have that and to be like Him but I also wanna be able to learn more tips and tricks. Just found this podcast today actually, going from old to new to see what y'all gotta say and I wanna learn and soak that in. My cup is still empty, there is still so much room, I wish to learn from your experiences and to grow BETTER through my failure as well. I hope that when/if you read this that it finds you in good health and high spirits, God bless you

God Bless you Chaz that you caught that in time...on the cancer part, I lost my older sister, my Mom and her twin sister and others....we all live in the cancer neighborhood I call it, how long are we drinking with styrofoam cups only later to hear when you heat it up with hot coffee or very cold put it in the freezer it breaks down the chemicals that can cause cancer....just one example. but on the subject we are an animal that needs to have some suffering to have humility and life lessons, we come through it a better person......wisdom isn't something we are born with...it takes time and life to reach it...

I think we should make a distinction between Adversity, discomfort and suffering. When people are suffering (describes as acute physical and / or mental pain) for a prolonged time, what exactly are they learning? Do you really believe people can think clearly during such times? What if the suffering never ends? Is it always within a persons power to 'overcome it'? I have learned many things while being in a calm, peaceful state, observing, listening, and rethinking. People rarely can do this in state of agony. What if the suffering leads to permanent trauma or other severe damage? What exactly is being leaned then, besides anxiety, depression, bitterness, etc...? A damaged soul is not fixed by 'offering a job opportunity' or a lecture. (especially not the example mentioned in this video, where the 'big opportunity' seems to consist of a job collecting money (from illegal activity? extortion? ...?) for a mobster for a few thousand dollar per week. Also, an interesting topic would be: What does it mean to 'succeed' in life. This doesn't seem to mean the same thing for different people... In my perception it is on this podcast often interpreted as carriere status, material possesion and ammount of money being earned. I have a serious issue with this.

Wow wow wow “tell my son … be happy … so I can move on”! That’s powerful people . That’s metaphysics. And don’t be off put but it’s also karmic law and reincarnation … all of that from tell him to be happy.

I am so happy to see Mr. Chazz. the great Sonny of the Bronx Tale. One of the best actors ever. Really. Mr. Chazz; have you heard of the Palestinian oppression & what they are going through every day? The last occupation and a partied on the face of the earth? Which country I am referring to? I did not like Chazz being a guest star in a law & order; organized crime. Still, he needs to work? I understand. Hope soon seeing Chazz in mega movie. I really do.
