Hope you’re feeling better. Thanks for the video. I have a pair of the 1723 towers I run in my 2.2 channel music setup and they sound excellent in my room. I Auditioned the 1723 S towers but upgraded to the bigger tower. They are built like tanks, have a 10 year warranty and a 60 day free return trial in the US. Give them good power and they can get as loud as you want without distortion or strain. Their customer service is outstanding. Suggest giving them a try if you are interested.

Kudos for putting in the effort despite feeling a bit sick. Im loving my 1723 thx towers in my room. The whole system came together and sounds brilliant.

Looks like a great speaker. If Arendal on the next iteration could improve on the looks of this speaker it would absolutely kill. Because on the looks side it's lacking behind the Kef LS50 Meta, B&W 606 S3 and Kef R3 Meta.

Good review i might pick up a pair of Arendal 1723 tower s, the big tower might be to large for me, Arendal is exellent products, still using my Arendal 1723 1s sub for almost 2 years now and it never dissapoints

So sad they discontinued the whole 1961 lineup. The 1961 bookshelf was an absolute gem. I am so happy a have a pair of them at home. The Soundstage those little speakers can produce, compared with the clarity, is just phenomenal. To me, they were the best price to performance speaker I've ever listened to. To me, they are the incarnation of affordable hifi.

These look a lot like Klipsch's powered heritage monitors. Not sure if you have any plans to review a set of those but I'd be really curious on your thoughts on them compared to other bookshelf speakers. I have the fives and after 2 years of owning them they still amaze me with what they can do and I think you'd be surprised.

Hey Nemo, you mentioned that their 1961 lineup was a bit niche. Do you mind elaborating on that? It was my impression, that the 1961 was a more dialed back version of the 1723S without the THX "tax" certification. Thank you so much for all your efforts on this channel!

I didn't say that. I said the 1961 bookshelf was niche, very good but very niche, hence low sales volume and why it's now discontinued. It was essentially a high end surround speaker.

Props again! Not many reviewers have your free styling skills like you. Btw do they come with grills and do they have dedicated stands?

Thank you bro, yeah I think Zero Fidelity is the only one that freestyles his videos. Maybe Zeos too now that I think about it. I've already returned these review samples and I don't remember if they had grills or not, I think I saw grills in the box but I'm not sure. I suggest you email Arendal to be 100% sure.

Yes they include grills that are very strong and they sell stands for the 1723 monitors that you can clamp to the back of the monitors which basically turns them into towers. No stands for the S monitors but you can wall mount them.

they're pretty similar, the focal is a little more flat sounding while the 1723 has better staging in every dimension.

How does this compare to the Heco Celan Revolution 3?

very different sound overall, both have similar treble energy but from the midrange down the celan is warmer, tonally richer, and has much stronger bass overall. The 1723 1S is more on the analytical side with a more neutral midrange and lighter bass.

Why wouldn't you use a sine wave or something to set the sub crossover more precisely? It sounds like bass is a weakness of this speaker. Perhaps imaging as well, if the staging is so large? Is this a top 5 bookshelf speaker at its price?

you can not reason your way to the conclusion? how about the lower frequencies creates more impedance on the woofer, so with full rage signal the woofer do not reach it excursion limit.

@@sudd3660 i was thinking more that the sealed box limits SPL due to the hit on efficiency. My LS3/5A speakers have very limited SPL due to low efficiency and small box.

@@net_news brother my choice is always the S400 MK2, it's my favorite speaker and the one I use the most. But I don't think it's for everyone of course. If you want more clarity & neutrality the 1723 is great, if you want a warmer sound and stronger bass then go for the S400 MK2, But be warned both speakers require quality amplification with at least an honest 50+w RMS per channel. Hope that helps.

I've got them and for the price I prefer Dynaudio emit 20 which i've got too! You should have mentioned Heco Elan 300 revolution that are the best in that price range

Most bookshelf style speakers are lacking in quality tremendously. Kef LS50 meta for example, DO NOT purchase these based on reviews and rep alone. Go somewhere and listen to them first as they fall WAYYYY short in sound quality. ( I speak from experience). They are decent at best and im running them with some pretty good gear.

I havent heard the LS50 metas but I wouldnt be surprised if they are completely overhyped. What gear did you use with the metas?

Really? I enjoyed my pair a lot but I did have them setup with pretty expensive amps. Is your room on the larger side perhaps? I have heard some complaints about their performance in rooms that are bigger.

@@dajikbatarang1 I ran them with the xtz 100-d3 in class A, Buchardt I150 both trough the Eversolo dmp-6 master edition, tidal playing mqa like it or not. Difference from the metas vs Buchardt s400mk2 was big. Tested also with xtz 99.26 MK2 bookshelves and found the kefs wanting. In the end I find the sound stage on the metas good, but lacking dept. Also tested Arendals 1723 thx monitors. They are amazing but to big for where I was going to use them.

@@NemoPropaganda I think that might be Abit of both. Using them with mono blocks way out of their price range covers up what they miss vs normal priced equipment.
