What are the acoustic panels you're using?

the main wall you see is just using polyester panels to reduce a bit of slap echo, search dekiru on amazon. The panels that make the big difference are out of frame, GIK gobo panels at the first reflection points and bass traps at the rear of the room.

If REL is so confident though why only a 3-year warranty, why not 5-year which seems to be the average warranty with a mid level sub.
@NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda Сағат бұрын
I'm not sure how much data you aggregated if any but 2-5 years is what I'm seeing across all the subwoofers I've reviewed and that's often times broken up like 2-3 years amplifier and 5 years cabinet/driver. That's a fairly long warranty for the home electronics category, your average cell phone or TV only have a 1 year warranty.

That’s not the price in 2024. I thought product pricing decline over the years not increase. That goes for SVS as sell, but here’s an example of Supply and Demand that drives pricing.
@NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda 45 минут бұрын
Unless you live at home and someone else pays the bills I'm a little surprised that you think pricing goes down. Products rarely decline over time unless you're factoring in the used market. Prices for things go up, a quick trip to the grocerry store easily confirms this. Historic US inflation has been 3% year over year meaning your money loses 3% of it's value every year. The last 5 years inflation has been even higher, home prices, cars, gas, grocerries, hell even look at streaming services. Netflix used to be $7.99, now it's over $20! TV's are one of the only things I can really think of where the price has gone down over the past 10 years but it's been at a standstill for the last 4 years.

Hi Nemo, I have a SVS sb-1000 pro sub hooked up to a LS50 Meta. Will the kc62 make a big difference? Trying to decide if it’s worth the change.
@NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda Күн бұрын
it depends, while the KC62 is much more expensive the SB1000 Pro can actually play louder because it is a larger subwoofer. What the KC62 will do is provide you with crazy amounts of extension out of a very small form factor and reasonable volumes. If you're looking to save some space, add some extension at reasonable volumes, and reduce the subs size then you will enjoy it but remember a big part of the cost for the KC62 is in the size. I still have my KC62 and continue to love it, it's a very special little sub :)

Thanks for the review. It was on my list but appears to have gone up in price a fair bit. I have the HECO Celan Revolution 3's. Do you happen to remember what amps you liked with those speakers? Hi bro, I bought the review sample so I still have the Rev3 :). Honestly I like them no matter what amp I have connected to them so it just depends what you have now and what you're looking for. The Celan Rev3 sound is sparkly/bright up top, do you want to keep that or reduce that? I think Billie with gold tubes is a great match or if you don't need the features the billie has then you can save some cash and go for the CHoco EMEI which is a purist piece and a little more refined sounding overall. If the EMEI is too warm for you then you can just use the +2 tabs on the Celan Rev3 :)

@@NemoPropaganda Hey, thanks for the reply. Yeah, i got them for $950 open box. Not a scratch on them. I thought I'd go for a new amp right away, but i like them with my vintage amps and some slightly less vintage ones. ;) I don't have anything new, so i guess I'm just curious. Thought you might have come across a great pairing. I know it's all subjective, but it was worth a shot. I haven't had an issue with them being too bright on +2 with any amp so far, but it's nice to have the option. I remember seeing a review of that choco amp. I'll keep it in mind for sure. I just realized, the Billie is a lot more than i remember, but it's the second version. I have to admit, it's probably close to what I'd come up with if i was designing something. They seem to know their shit. I know it's not truly audiophile, but i was thinking about the onkyo rz50. I've had them hooked up tp an older onkyo a/v amp for HT and they perform. They also sound great on my marantz 2245. Ah well, choices choices...

Hey Nemo, great review! Just a quick query. Do you think this integrated amp will pair well with Focal Kanta 1? Will this be able to tame down the brightness and produce a more holographic sound? And lastly, is Heaven 11 a better match than Hegel H190 for the Kanta no. 1? Your views will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
@NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda Күн бұрын
Hi bro, it depends what amp you currently have and how much you want to balance out the Kanta No1, with the gold tubes the billie will help compared to an amp that is neutral or clarity focused. I have a friend that uses the billie/gold tubes with his kanta no1 and likes it very much though his taste leans towards open/airy/bright. Personally I have a feeling the sound you are looking for will be with the CHoco Emei, it doesn't have any features like the Billie so maybe that's a deal breaker but its treble is a little more refined and a little darker and the Kanta can really benifit from that.

In my mind an amp that can't handle my Zu Audio DW6 speakers is not very versatile. I've used them with my Cayin MT-12N and Willsenton R8 tube amps and Yamaha A-S301 and A-S3200 solid state integrated amps with great results. Of course there are amps on the other end that can't handle low impedance speakers like the Magnepan planars. I just remembered Steve Guttenberg reviewing this amp and I rewatched it. He used Magnepan and the DW6 speakers with results he really enjoyed, so I guess he didn't get the memo about not using Zu speakers. Class D amplifiers, which are highly efficient and use pulse-width modulation (PWM) to amplify audio signals, might have trouble with a 12-ohm speaker due to a few reasons: 1. **Output Power**: Class D amplifiers are typically designed to deliver maximum power at lower impedances, such as 4 or 8 ohms. With a 12-ohm speaker, the amplifier will deliver less power because the higher impedance limits the current flow, resulting in reduced overall power output. This means the speaker might not be driven as effectively or reach the desired volume levels. 2. **Impedance Matching**: Class D amplifiers often have output filters designed to match the impedance of commonly used speakers (4 to 8 ohms). When using a 12-ohm speaker, the mismatch in impedance can affect the performance of these filters, potentially leading to less accurate sound reproduction and decreased efficiency. 3. **Current Capability**: While Class D amplifiers are efficient and generate less heat, they are also designed with certain current capabilities in mind. Higher impedance speakers require less current, which might lead to the amplifier operating outside its optimal range, potentially affecting its performance and efficiency. In summary, a Class D amplifier might struggle with a 12-ohm speaker due to reduced power output, potential impedance mismatches affecting filter performance, and operating outside of its designed current capabilities.

I appreciate you reviewing the Billie as its something I've had my eye on. However, you took an integrated amp and reviewed it only as an amp. What happened to the integrated part, and how those pieces compare to others in the price range? How is the DAC, how is the BT functionality, how is the phono amp and how well does the Billie compare as a preamp? There's so much missing here. FWIW, Tom
@NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda Күн бұрын
I think this is your first time seeing me review an integrated amp and you may not realize or know this channel is a side project, I am not a full time reviewer, my videos are shot in single takes, are unscripted, and I generally review the product based on how I personally use it. Nobody pays me to do this and I don't use affiliate links, this is all for fun and for free. I never review the preamp section of an integrated amp separately, it is not my area of expertise and we all know how lossy BT sounds, perfectly fine for when you wanna jam out while cleaning the house or something but you wouldn't use it for critical listening. So that only leaves the internal DAC, if its good or not is relative as it depends what you're comparing it to. Most gears internal dac is about on par with an external dac in the $100-$249 range and the differences are more a matter of taste and preference than performance. They are generally considered good enough. Integrated amp refers to the preamp and poweramp section being combined so I did review the integrated amp, I just don't cover every feature. My goal is to give you a general idea of the overall sound of a product.

internal dac performance is gonna depend on what you're comparing it to, versus a computers sound card or your TV the billies internal dac is gonna be superior, versus an external dac like an Ares 12th-1 the Ares is gonna sound better. The most realistic example I can give you is my friend has a billie MK2 and uses a Cambridge MXN10 streamer and Focal Kanta No1 speakers, he prefers the Billies internal dac over the one inside the MXN10 streamer, hope that helps! @@lsaideOK no I didn't personally use the bliies internal dac, I very rarely use the internal dac on a product. I did test the internal on the Pathos Inpol Remix but that was an optional $750 add on so I figured people would want to know if it was worth it or not but outside of rare situations like that it just takes up too much time. I spend about 10-30 hours of listening just assessing the sound of the amp itself, I can't do that with the internal dac also so with me what you get is someone who spends a crazy amount of time with the core product but at the expense of ignoring certain features. Using my Platimon for example the CHoco is a notable step up from the Billie, but using something like my S400 MK2 or Dynaudio Evoke 20 I would actually prefer the Billie amp so while technically the CHoco is better it also depends what speakers you plan to use. I am a USA citizien, but have been living in Mexico for 14 years. I found them online in a store in Italy and had them shipped to me in Mx. Bit of a hassle and with customs and taxes , it was a 2 month wait. But it was well worth it. I love them in my acoustcally well treated 12.5'x14' (175sq ft) room with a polk Audio powered sub, using Denon dra 800 h tuner as preamp into an Acurus A2002 stereo power amp. Goosebumps... I do however find it interesting that my speakers are number 71 of 2000 in the limited series. According to Triangle that is 1000 pair total to be manufatured, Interesting ? : because I see soooo many reviews and comments. I mean if there are only 1000 pair of these out there in the world, How have they not all been sold ? It just seems that 1000 pair is not a lot of supply for the entire market. Am I missing something ? I found them to be a bit difficult to get them properly positioned for inaging and sound stage, but be patient and with minute tweaks you will get there. My sweet spot is probably about the size of a medium -large beach ball. Any movement by me up and down, forward and back my more than 8-12 '' takes me out of the zone. But within the zone , it is blissful ! Oh the packaging was incredible, for which I was very thankful considering air friieght from Italy to Mexico , then opened and shuffled around in Mexican customs for nearly 2 months. They were only 1300 Euros, but after shipping , customs and Mexican duties/ fees $2550 usd.

I know what you mean, no I don't think it will do 20hz with extreme output but I also don't have a way to test that :( If you know of an easy way to test that I may consider it but I currently have a fulltime job and YT channel is just a side project for me so I can't add a process to my reviews that is time intensive.

@@NemoPropaganda understood. I was thinking a Umik-1, laptop and REW just for a baseline example of how it would measure in one of your rooms. Appreciate the response and the next one ✌🏼

be cool to see these up against Tekton Dynamite monitors.

I don't think a tekton review is likely to happen from any reviewer given the recent drama. Tekton seems to take issue to any criticism and seems to like threatening lawsuites. I do not wish to work with a company like that.

Great content and nice impressions on the different subwoofers! You get all the way to the end and profanity comes out of nowhere. It just seemed forced the way it came out. As a viewer of your channel, I recommend you avoid the profanity. I understand it’s your channel, but I’m just giving some feedback. Thanks

I don't think it's fair to criticize such old content. Very few people are the same as they were over 3 years ago. I understand not everyone checks the date on YT videos but I very rarely swear in anything made in the last 2 years.

I’ve been searching for someone doing a review for the SVS nano. I think they will be the perfect replacement for my RP400m’s on my computer desk paired with my RSL mini amp and svs sb 1000 pro. I can’t wait to see the full review!

oh man, I never heard the RP400m so I can't really comment on that but I know people like those speakers a lot too!

Right now at crutchfield the RP-500M II is on sale for 399 which matches the non sale price of the R-50M I would recommend anyone consider the pricing of RP models in comparison to the R- option.

So, why are these so impossible to find now? Were they discontinued? Can't seem to locate Heco Aurora R300 anywhere, and it has been that way since (from memory) Feb. 2024...

I have no idea my bro, maybe they were discontinued maybe audioadvice doesn't want to work with heco anymore or vice versa, I tried to get a straight answer from audioadvice but no luck, they just said they'd get back to me if there was an update.
