Perfect video for me! I've had the XT3 since shortly after it's release. Of course I'm tempted by an upgrade. I don't need it yet though, and I'm really thinking I can hold out awhile to see what's coming out over the next couple years. Whatever I do will require new battery purchases anyhow. I have been rocking the X-T3 for almost 5 years now, and it is honestly taken a back seat to my XH1. I love the new sensor and it is quite capable for my needs but I just find that I don’t use it as much. As for upgrading The newer cameras rock in there capabilities but i feel something was lost when fujifilm moved production of some of its bodies outside of Japan.

If the X-T5 is using a badass plastic like Polycarbonate, then I see no issue with them using it! I death grip my camera when I don't have it strapped to me anyway. Only major downside I've seen is the new sensor isn't as good for video because it turns to rolling shutter jello more easily than the X-T3. Other than that, I think it's worth the upgrade for all the other improvements! I just feel the need to have a whole other camera just for video. If some of the newer Fuji cameras didn't have better video features then I'd just hang onto my X-T3 but the thing is starting to show its age a little. Still a fantastic and impressive camera, though! I would like to get an X-H2S since it seems like one of the best photo and video cameras... But them extra fourteen megapixels would be so helpful for some of the stuff I do! Mostly macro photography stuff and moon pictures. X-T5 would be a great B video camera, though.

I’ve seen people struggling with pasm dials to set aperture iso and SS. I just continue to smile when they are next to me.

They should reduce the number of megapixels which would allow them to increase the low-light capability. They should also install a button to prevent the exposure compensation dial from moving accidentally. This would make the next version of the XT5 a really great camera.

well our business has an X-T5, which is used for certain things that require the new processor.. I personally still shoot with the X-T3 and I'll replace it when it breaks... Since I don't crop images with what I do (apart from to print at 16" x 12" which requires cropping the image into a 4/3 aspect ration) the 26MP is enough for my professional work. If anything... I'd be tempted by the X-H2s or the camera Fuji never released the X-T5s (or give me an X-S20 Pro, same as X-S20 but with weather sealing and 2 card slots)

I doubt I'll be upgrading unless the prices are crazy good. There are a few reasons I've considered it. First is for IBIS(I'm getting older!), secondly the battery life, and finally the sensor would be better for cropping. But, I really like my X-T3 and have been more interested in lenses. That XF50-140 keeps calling to me! But, big bucks. LOL! BTW, the X-T3 has Classic Negative. I like that sim for photo walks/street in daylight. Thanks for the comparison and summary. On my X-T3 i found that by changing setting on Face-eye autofocus set to the right eye (can be on left) only instead of both i had a lot better results. If he lost the right eye he jump on the left, it's more acurate, just saying. I dont feel penalized by my X-T3 it's a keeper for me this camera is special. But i'm really tempted by the XH2-s or XH2 for another kind of experience. Keep the good work !

Those XT1 raws are so maliable! Shadow recovery of my XT3 is a disappointment in comparison. I can't imagine how bad it probably is for XT5 files. Please Fujifilm, bring out a new, lower mp camera.

I use the X-t5 but still have the X-t3 for backup and sometimes second body/lens. Both work better with the L-grip. I have only one complaint about the X-T5 - it would be nice to have a half/resolution setting for some fast work.

Is there a definitive guide to which Fuji lenses are actually capable of resolving for the XT5 sensor? I'm guessing all of the Pro XF lenses are fine, but what about the "old" XF lenses and the affordable XFs - any to avoid?

if you go on their website, there are certain lenses they said won't be able to resolve it such as the xf 35mm f1.4 I don't know about others but there are definitely some.

I don’t use the xt5 for video so I can’t really comment on the rolling shutter. The last time I used the xt5 for video was almost a year ago. And I don’t remember noticing anything jarring.

Hi bro, would you say xh2s has more "cinematic look video" than the xh2 and xt5? Or it's also possible to achieve similar looks on those 2, I wanna change my xh2s for xt5 only cuz I love the retro look but Im afraid to notice a big video downgrade 😢

It' does have a more softer look to it. But it's honestly not that bad coming from the xh2 and the XT5. I am filming some videos with the xt5 and I thought I would hate the footage. But to my surprise it was good.

Also the XT3 has battery grip which I appreciate! For grip especially when shooting portraits vertically!! The XT5 not having a battery grip the biggest reason why I would not buy that camera!!

It is, for AF, updated sensor, 40mp 4k60, 6.2k video. But if you don't need all that hte XT4 is fine.

The obvious answer is Yes if you want IBIS and all the other goodies. 🙂 But what advancements in technology could there be that would get X-T5 owners to upgrade? 🤔 Some other differences: LCD: X-T3 has 1.04 million dots while X-T5 has 1.84 million dots; X-T5's screen can slightly pull away from the camera for better top-down viewing. Pixel Shift: X-T5 has it, it's amazing under ideal conditions, but no one wants to bother with it. 😮‍💨

I KNOW! I need to do more thorough testing to be sure, but my guess is that the camera might've had micro movements from settling on the rubber padding. 🤦‍♂

If you have an XT1 or XT2 then upgrading to XT5 is worth it. If you already just bought an XT4, then don't waste money to upgrade to XT5 unless you are hella rich and buying mirrorless cameras every 3 months is nothing to you, then fine, upgrade every month. Don't forget, upgrading also usually means you'll have to buy a brand new PC ($5K) to get better graphics cards and processing power to keep up with your constant upgrading lol. You'll need to spend another 1K to buy a few 20-30TB hard drives for storage as those will be quickly used up if recording at 6K, 8K raw. And don't forget all the memory cards you'll have to upgrade too. The worst feeling is when you upgrade and then realize your PC isn't powerful enough to even process the files lol. OOPS.

I believe Fujifilm get away with mrder in several aspects of the kit they produce; reduced quality in camera bodies with premium prices (remember the XT1 bending door?); and lenses full of 'quirks', 'magic' and 'character' (in other words sub-standard compared to say Canon lenses) I'm beginning to have a change of heart in regards to Fujifilm kit.

The XT5 is made of the same magnesium alloy as the previous XT series bodies. They probably just used a thinner version of it for weight savings. So same quality material, just less of it.

@@Kliffot I have found that neither of those things are true. At least not with the copy I just got a week ago. It's possible that they have listened to reviewer feedback and made some QA improvements quietly and behind the scenes, I don't know. But it feels solid without any loose parts and very high quality. It's just not as heavy and not as textured on the paint, as previous iterations. I contend that they likely just streamlined the materials in a way that it feels lighter and smoother without compromising quality. Time will tell I guess though.

All I hear comments, saying that the X-T5 is, “plasticy feeling.“ Is the camera magnesium, or really made out of plastic? If the body is made out of metal, then why do people say it feels like plastic?

@@Iamtongue I have a T3 and T4, and have at one time owned just about all previous models- sometimes more than once. As far as I am concerned, the industry has about peaked technically, and I probably will never upgrade again. Question still is what is the T5 made of? why are people saying it feels like it’s made of plastic? Not that I wouldn’t put it past the Chinese manufacturers.

@@Iamtongue it’s not the only reason to upgrade, but it’s the one that keeps me stupefied. I also prefer the ergonomics, battery life, and overall performance. If you have the money to do it, why not? If you don’t, then obviously the prior gen camera bodies are great. I use an X-A7 as my backup, so that should tell you I’m not an X-T5 snob lol.
